Obama Issues Presidential Memorandum on International Drug Transit Countries

President Obama issues a Presidential Memorandum on Major Illicit Drug Transit today.

Obama says he almost put Canada on the list for being a major transit point for Marijuana and Ecstasy. He also praised the African countries that worked on the DEA's Excellent African Adventures.

What effect does the Memorandum have? Legally, it's the same as an Executive Order, but this one doesn't seem to call for any action. It also doesn't seem to be tied to a denial or reduction in aid to these countries. Is it the opposite? A prelude to spending more money on the drug war in these countries? (Added: BBC News article on memo is here.)

For weed?  You can grow the sh*t ANYwhere if you got the desire.  Please.

And ecstasy, hell, what would it take to transport, say, a million doses of E?  Maybe three cardboard boxes and the back seat of a Toyota.

    Idiocy.

For some reason can't open the link, so I can't read the context.  But that he actually said that out loud gave me a chill. Not in a good way.

This comment reminds me of Super Troopers for some reason.

The ironic thing about this list is that of all countries, the good 'ol US of A is probably one of the biggest producers of all that.

I wouldn't be surprised if VT exported to Canada.

appreciate all the fine work by the countries supplying us with dope.  Obama does not speak for us all! :)

I suggest any blacklisted country blacklist us for all the guns we send their way...a much more deadly product, and a lot less fun to play with.
