As TechHerald reports, among th[e] documents was a presentation, “The Wikileaks Threat,” put together by three data intelligence firms for Bank of America [. . .] They suggested that Glenn Greenwald’s support was key to WikiLeaks’ ongoing survival.

One of those listed as a volunteer, Salon.com columnist, Glenn Greenwald, was singled out by the proposal. [. . ]“Glenn was critical in the Amazon to OVH transition,” the proposal says, referencing the hosting switch WikiLeaks was forced to make after political pressure caused Amazon to drop their domain.

As TechHerald notes, an earlier version of the slide said support from people like Glenn needed to be “attacked.”

    I wasn't aware till now this involved Anonymous.

    And Wow....just wow.  I never thought that I would be someone who would be so suspicious of the entities running things....but the entities running things in my time are corrupt as hell and scary as hell.

    All the TBTF banks and huge media conglomerates pumping out propaganda all the way around have me mostly stunned these days.  Corporations have no conscience that isn't formed around and due to regulation and litigation, and the ability to do both of those things seems greatly hindered these days.  I feel like some sort of bizarre anarchist cheering for Wikileaks, but the super rich are so powerful right now a world without Wikileaks scares the hell out of me.

    And to say that Glenn Greenwald became a household name in December due to Manning, is that true?  I've known who Glenn Greenwald is for years now but that is because he plays in the field of politics. Being a part of Salon I always thought was the place for frontrunners though?  Am I wrong and has it really been only recently that Glenn Greenwald was "known",and is he suddenly a household name?

    and I'm sure there are more than two of us that feel that way.

    Even though I don't have any accounts/loans/credit cards with them, I'm pretty sure I would conisder Anne's Mattress Bank if BoA was the only option...

    Although we do have an antique iron treasure chest that dates to the 1600's in which we throw all our change; we tell the kids it might be their inheritance one day...for some reason, this does not amuse them.

    more of a threat than the Muslim Brotherhood from our perspective living in Christian-majority United States of America.  Not sure if our prospective would be different if we lived in a Muslim-majority country, especially if we, though nominally Muslim, were non-practicing.

    just talking about who the greater threat is to America, Americans, and our way of life.  It's a no brainer, though you wouldn't know it if you looked at the defense budget...too much CIA/NSA/DOD...not nearly enough SEC.

    I read some of those exchanges yesterday and thought that these hacks could make him a household name with their attacks.  Which is the irony.

    Sort of like Michael Moore being targeted by the insurance industry when Sicko was released.  They got every media outlet to cover the release of the film - sure the press was "bad" - but a lot of people would never have even known that the film existed had it not been for Sanjay Gupta and others' erroneous attacks.

    and that was the Spy vs Spy aspect. At some point the mutual investigations cross a legal line, but I suspect it is a blurry line.
