Really long day at work -- just getting home, haven't seen the news and I'm going to watch the X-Factor and Harry's Law and call it a night.

    His consulting firm took money from Freddie Mac while preaching how Freddie and Fanny used funds to influence politicians.

    It's over a million bucks.  Conservative may not care if you are smart, know where Russia is, like to degrade women, or have a ranch called something racial.  But they will not put up with anyone with ties to Freddie.

    Am i a tornado magnet? second town this year i live in to get hit. nobody killed in this tornado, though, but a trailer park was evacuated because of damage, gas leaks, trees down, etc...

    geez. If tornadoes happen in Romania or Colombia after i get there, then it's me, not global warming!

    Eighty-four-year-old activist Dorli Rainey spoke to Countdown host Keith Olbermann on Wednesday night after being pepper sprayed by police the previous night during an "Occupy Seattle" protest.

    The protest was formed in downtown Seattle in solidarity with "Occupy Wall Street" after it was raided by authorities. Police claimed they gave warnings to protesters for blocking streets during rush hour before trying to disperse them

    Rainey said the protesters had decided to leave the intersection, and that police almost certainly knew this because of the protester's "people's microphone" method of communication. But before they could leave, police moved in and fired pepper spray at the crowd.

    At what point do left-oriented voters decide that the federal government has lost it's ability to get anything of worth done -- including progressive reforms and laws -- and start to move towards devolution of power/taxation and a "states' rights" ideology?

    the federal government was hopelessly dysfunctional 'round 1998...just never figured out what to move towards...I just gave up on representation in government.

    Then OWS hit the scene, and giving up didn't seem like the only play anymore.

    A good NYT article on history of investigation into Sandusky.  According to the article, even coaches on other teams had heard rumors about Sandusky.  Supports the argument I made previously that it it is simply not believable that Paterno hand't heard about previous issues with Sandusky prior to 2002.

    to stop the ringing of the stock exchange bell.  It is already getting bad out there.  Will today be our day of sorrow?

    I said the other day that I thought we were headed into a horrible violence.  Our retired military intel guy said last night that in other countries in a situation such as the one we are in right now, if there is a highly organized strike against protesters such as the one we just witnessed....that the only place you can go after that is violence.  I had not shared with him my thoughts about it before he said that.  He has witnessed other countries though in similar situations go through the motions.  I think it is hard for most Americans to grasp that this can happen to us, but what makes us more special than any other nation?  Nothing.  In the wake of what is happening should we be more special, just swallow the take over by the ultra rich?  God forbid

    How many of them?  How many of us?  Didn't he learn anything in Iraq either?  If you now start to kill us, it only breeds more of us no matter what you say from the podium in Qatar.  I know, in the Republican party ignorance is a virtue.

    I suppose David Petraeus will have to work some COIN on us, get a big big big chunk of change from the coffers and "create" some infrastructure projects and some jobs.  Oh yeah, and the troops will have to respect the people and highly esteem them to stop the breeding of insurgents.

    Living all of this in my own phucking country really really really helps me understand how stupid and/or corrupt every member of the Washington elite is :)
