You've committed your life to Jesus. You know you're saved.  But when the Rapture comes what's to become of your loving pets who are left behind?   Eternal Earth-Bound Pets takes that burden off your mind.

We are a group of dedicated animal lovers, and atheists. Each
Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after you've received your reward.  Our network of animal activists are committed to step in when you step up to Jesus.

    8) Fees:
One (1) pet per rescue address = $110.00
Each additional pet per rescue address = $15.00

Q: How do you ensure your representatives won't be Raptured.
A: Actually, we don't ensure it, they do.  Each of our representatives has stated to us in writing that they are atheists, do not believe in God / Jesus, and that they have blasphemed in accordance with
Mark 3:29, negating any chance of salvation.

The owner has serially spammed numerous atheist sites, including Richard Dawkins, with numerous sock puppet accounts proclaiming his own genius and as a result has earned permanent bans from many of them. And you are promoting him. There would be a partial excuse were he in some way to contribute to the communities he infests - but he doesn't. It's just shameless me-me-me. Good News, Bad News--Obama Administration (5.00 / 2) (#78)
by KeysDan on Fri Aug 06, 2010 at 05:57:33 PM EST
The  Good: The BP oil is pretty much gone, according to NOAA thanks "to the aggressive response of BP and government." Only 26% residual (oil on or just below the surface, washed ashore or buried in sand); 25% evaporated or dissolved (like sugar in a tea cup), although this seems to repeal the first law of thermodynamics.

After all, when I put sugar in my tea, it does not go away, I expect it to be sweet; direct recovery, 17%; burned/skimmed 8%; dispersed: naturally 16%, chemically, 8% (again dispersed is not the same as disappeared).

But using just 26% residual and skipping over the percentages dispersed and/or dissolved, based on the NOAA figure of 4.9 million barrels of oil released, the residual is about 1.3 million barrels, more than 5 times that spilled owing to that drunken sailor piloting the Exxon Valdez. I wonder if Haley Barbour who compared the oil spill to rainbows and chocolate mouse served as consultant.

The Bad.  The Trustees reported that Medicare will remain financially solvent until 2029, rather than in 2017 as projected in last year's report. The Health Care legislation recently enacted will brings cost cutting measures that will support Medicare.

The Social Security Trust Fund will not be exhausted until 2037, but the administrator said it is not a cause for panic, since after that date the continuing tax revenues will still be sufficient to  pay more than 75% of benefits. And, starting in 2019, the new tax on Cadillac health policies is expected to shift to wages then subject to payroll taxes

This is, of course, bad news. The Ex.Dir. of the Cat Food Commission sees the report as affirmation of the need to strengthen social security over the long haul. Apparently, raising the eligibility age to 70 from 67 (about a 20 % reduction in benefits) is critical to avoid a possible 25% reduction in benefits 27 years from now. Bad news, indeed.

But, you have to go below the headlines more than a bit. In any event, the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) has a full page "thank you Michael  Bennet" in the Denver Post today. I don't imagine that the AFT would be thanking someone who had hurt the Denver school system.  (Yep, the race has turned openly heated in recent weeks. Still--thank goodness--it is a far cry from the almost funny craziness on the Colorado Republican side of the aisle. For those of you interested in some perceptive and side-splitting-with-laughter takes on the Rs' situation, I refer you to the Post's Michael Littwin columns.)

Church Carnival Sets Up Shooter Game With Obama As Target

In Roseto, Pa., a carnival company closed down a shooter game called "Alien Attack," after complaints and news stories that President Obama was one of the targets.

The black "alien leader" is holding a scroll titled "Health Bill" and wearing a presidential seal belt buckle. He also has antennae and a troll doll with a KISS T-shirt on his shoulder.

The owner of the carnival company, Goodtime Amusements, dismissed a complaint, saying the figure is not meant to be Obama.

"She [a carnival-goer] said she was offended by it. I said if you are, you might want to be. But you're interpreting it as being Obama. We're not interpreting it as Obama," said the owner, Irvin Good Jr.

Is There A Coup In The Maine Tea Party?

Something weird is happening with the tea party in Maine.
On Tuesday night, Amy Hale -- one of the leaders of the Patriots group -- posted an odd message to the group's website, suggesting that she'd been forced to give up control of the site . . .

I was cornered in the parking lot by 10+ people and told that bad things would happen to me if I did not give them the password and hand over Maine Patriots. Therefore, I no longer have control of Maine Patriots.

Since Tuesday, other tea party sites in Maine have been hotbeds of conspiracy theories and accusations . .

and it looks like, if I am to have a life, I will have to put most of my sibs on spam filter again.

More than half of them have announced that they will not again vote for Obama and wish they had voted for Clinton.  The others are furious.

I just keep confusing them all by pointing out that most of the former Obama fans are accusing him of reneging on matters on which he was quite honest and/or obvious -- i.e., Afghanistan, FISA, etc.  And I just offering my extra HRC buttons, bumper stickers, t-shirts, etc.

The boyz now for  Clinton now accuse me of not being a feminist! So I just keep putting that where I put their accusations that I was a racist.

I just note that I do not want her on the ticket again, as I do not trust the Dem Party ever again.

Oh my, but the next two years are going to be a mess.  There goes the family reunion again, too, just when it seemed that we could try it again!

Btw, the former Obama fans are on the East Coast, the West Coast (California), and several points in between.  Those still for Obama are only in the Midwest . . . always late to the latest trends.

Bristol Palin just told TMZ she is "heartbroken" in the wake of her split with her baby daddy

is there some other part of your anatomy you would have preferred he lie to?

I was thinking about this.  (dangerous I know).
but the whole second girlfriend thing is all the more amazing because of the ratio of men to women there.

The latest census data show there are 114 single men for every 100 single women in Alaska, compared to 86 single men for every 100 single women nationally

it really supports something I heard once that the women there say of the men.

"the odds are good but the goods are odd"

this would seem to support that.

In engineering school too.  86 to 100 nationally? How is that possible? Do men die that much more?  Unless there are a lot of men leaving the country or a lot of women with multiple men - this ratio seems off.

live longer, keep in mind that a lot of those single women are in their 80s, their 90s . . . while the men are younger on average.

My dad's last years in a retirement home, where he was one of the youngsters in his 60s, were hilarious at times.  We finally had to get him out for meals, when he would not go to the cafeteria, because he could not eat in peace.

Or so he said.  But I did witness it a few times.  Then again, he was an outrageous flirt and never knew how to turn that off.

that a guy could possibly have the "answer to everything" AND be hot.  but there you have it.

Last week, the Foundational Questions Institute (FQXi) announced it has awarded $2.7 million in grants to 33 researchers to study basic questions in physics and cosmology.

Among the grant winners was surfer/theoretical physicist A. Garrett Lisi (pictured), who made the news last year with an unpublished paper entitled 'An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything.' Lisi will get $77,222 to work on his theory, which involves using a recently mapped 248-dimension mathematical structure called E8 to unify all the fundamental particles and forces, including gravity.

I saw something on one of the discovery channels about this and have since been reading about it.
even the 10% I can understand is absolutely fascinating.

Connecticut police say they arrested a man at a management company after he mentioned the shooting rampage across the state that killed nine people and said he understood the killer's mindset.

Fifty-eight-year-old Francis Laskowski of Derby was charged with breach of peace Wednesday after making the comments while working at Fusco Management Co. in New Haven...

...Laskowski told The Associated Press on Friday that his comments were blown out of proportion. He says his arrest was "ridiculous" and he didn't make any threats..

at this point? We know for a fact he's a liar and a cheater. As for other cheaters hoping for a deal, well, isn't this just a variation on Jeralyn's stories about jailhouse snitches?

I don't know if Armstrong ever doped. What I do know is that in all these years of testing, unscheduled surprise testing, he has never tested positive for any banned substance.

Personally, I think Armstrong is kind of a jerk, but unless the investigators can produce very compelling and supportable evidence that he doped, and the verbal claims of a bunch of cheaters looking to lighten their own punishment does not meet that standard, he should be left alone.
