Casino Pictures of Joran Van der Sloot and Stephany Flores

Watch Stephany greet Joran when she enters the casino alone at 3:20 am. She walks right up to him and he extends his hand. She sits down and moves over to sit next to him. I think they had played together before. They are greeting each other, not meeting each other.

When they get up from the table together, they leave and Joran comes back to the table (I think to tip the croupier) and a guy starts talking to him and then Stephany walks up. Is that Elton Garcia? (Background here.)Is Elton Garcia in any of the images? See below for the fold for video of Elton Garcia.

When they leave the casino together, he and Stephany are chatting. From the moment she walks into the casino through the time they leave, you don't see her with her head down (like in the hotel video), following behind him. They seem together and comfortable together. [More...]

Update: As to the speculation Joran killed women in Colombia before getting to Peru, he never left the Bogota airport. He was only in Colombia to change planes and get to Lima:

A DAS official told W Radio Wednesday morning that their records indicate that Van der Sloot was indeed in Colombia at the time of the disappearances, but that he was merely in transit to his final destination of Lima, Peru, and never left Bogota's El Dorado airport.

as Van der Sloot, put up with someone standing up and looking over their shoulder while they are playing?

Agree she looks much more comfortable around him at the casino than going to the hotel room.  Who knows why?  Maybe she is an excellent actress?

Sure wish I could ask my tutoree to watch and listen to the Spanish language videos.  He could give me the gist pretty quickly.

aka "sweating" a player is tolerated and accepted unless you're right on top of somebody breathing down their neck...for friends/acquaintances it is very common to sweat the action.

from the action may be set up...No visiting  the tables is allowed, at least where I play and have played.

In ring games people can and do wander through, stop and talk to friends/players and hole cards are sometimes shown:

"Get a load of these pieces of trash..."

But if anyone complains the "visitor" must leave. I won't tolerate people standing around "looking" or visiting for more than a minute or two if they are within about 210 degrees from the center of my back.

Kdog - I came in second again last week in a Free Roll tournament for a sponsored buy in at the WSOP.... always a groomsmaid... never a groom..

    ;-)

    Worse, second paid nothing.

you play in Mr. High-Roller:)...not the case here.  A couple hundred dollar buy-in nobody cares if people sweat the action right at the tables.  Though you're right that if someone complains, at any stakes, the floor will generally accomodate the player and shoo 'em off.  Railbirds pay no rake:)

Kinda moot though...it seems clear now they were at least acquaintances if not friends.

2nd in a winner gets a seat free-roll is absolutely brutal...better luck in the next one brother!  You still got some time to qualify!

They knew each other, for whatever that means.

I hate to see all the bad publicity centered around poker. It will never be a family sport but this just reinforces the "Well, since you can't call my bet Little Lady I'll just take the ranch, throw you and Granny out of the house and shoot the dog..." image.

I like that the scene is a little seedy, lends it a certain charm imo...didn't particularly care for the attempts by the Harrah's suits and others to make it wholesome family entertainment...it's not, at least to me.

But not murder seedy of course...that's a different ballgame.

Sorting the truths and non truths difficult but I read that Stephany texted a friend that she was home and going up the stairs to her bedroom when she was really with Joran. She didn't want her friend to know the true whereabouts for some reason.

Maybe Stephany was just uncomfortable being seen entering a hotel with a guy she just met, keeping a low profile.

Maybe she kept her head down because she knew about the cameras and the 'sting' and didnt want to be idenfied? She might not have known all of this would blow up?
I wonder if when Joran returned with the two coffees she was still alive?

Maybe the set up was that Stephany (after having a fight with her father or being in trouble with people who were after her) needed somewhere to stay, and texted Elton, who told her to come to the casino, Elton might have suggested to her she could stay in Joran's room while he went to Chile for the other tournament.Elton might have suggested she lend Joran her car in exchange for a place to stay/hide.Which would explain why he left his passport at the hotel.Joran might have recieved the ph call from his mother while driving stephanys car, freaked out, dumped it, caught a taxi and died his hair and hid until he had a plan to get away, knowing he had been set up?
That would explain the behaviour at the casino, where they look like they knew each other, but were not a couple.
I would like to see the complete video between Joran leaving and stephanys body being found.Maybe someone else entered-a hit man? Elton? Someone else? Is she even dead? Why did her father say she fought her attacker but she was buried with DNA evidence under her nails? Maybe her family organised for her to fake her own death because she was in some major trouble over her gambling? Anything is possible!
