Won my way in via a $25 dollar satellite ($216 is the regular buy-in price). Hopefully I'll still be playing in six hours and looking at serious money. Been on a crazy free bankroll run. I've managed to take a $7.50 freeroll prize and run it up to over $9000. Cashed out for $8000 already.

Silly. But nice.

just got nothing. amazing i lasted three hours like that. finally got some aces, and they got busted to bust me out. way it goes, and i only spent 25 getting in.

last week, tho, i got fifth in the 60,000 guarantee, 160 bucks to play (which I got into through an buck satellite), and took home over $4500, so i'm hardly pissed.

next two weeks full tilt has their little wsop knockoff, gonna try to get into a few of those events for the big score again. still got a thousand on the site to play with, so...keep on keepin' on.

gotta write today, tho, the book is too close to the end. peace, dog.

good to hear the success hasn't whacked your priorities my good man.

No luck on the big Breeders Cup Pick-6 Early Retirement ticket on this end...4 outta 6 (again), woulda been 5 outta 6 but Zenyatta came up that head short in the Classic...what a race, what a champion. Can't believe how she closed from 25 lengths back....wow.

But all in all it was a good day, hit the early Breeders Cup Pick 4 for 50 cents, paid over 500 bucks...covered the losses and turned a little profit for the day.

I've got an OTB facility within walking distance of my crib to place bets...same thing as betting the simulcasting of other tracks at Del Mar, but they're all over the city/state.

Breeders Cup Day the syndicate and I hit the OTB to place our bets then back to the crib to watch the races in the comfort of home, where smoking is not only permitted, it is encouraged:) You can set up a phone/internet account to bet from home, but I stay away from that mess...I like trading cash for tickets.

Last night I discovered there is a Hindu temple to Ganesh in Flushing. Who knew. Rededicated with a live elephant inside the temple.

One neighborhood over from where I grew up...the OTB my dad used to take me to, where a love affair with the ponies was born, was in Flushing....the best pizza joint in the universe is in Flushing.

Queens NY is the most diverse county in the country, if you didn't already know. Every culture on earth is represented in Queens...its the melting pot of the melting pot. Her streets will always be home.

...in San Diego for man years, Normal Heights, was also advertised as one of the most five diverse in the nation. Everyone lived there. There was, despite all my problems with the place, something comforting about that.

Dia de los Muertos Marigold parade in South Albuquerque today. It was a beautiful day and a great parade. Lots of dead people and some pretty good looking skeletons.

reports names being bruited about for replacement of Secretary Gates. Apparently, two of those frequently mentioned are John Hamre, a deputy secretary of defense in the Clinton administration and chair of the Defense Advisory Panel, and Ike Skelton, Missouri congressman who lost his House seat and chairmanship of the Armed Services Committee along with it.

An anti-gay Skelton along with the newly appointed anti-gay Marine Commandant General James Amos does not seem to augur well for DADT repeal. You would think that a fierce advocate would find qualified individuals who did not vocally disagree with your stated goals. No mention in the speculation about former Congressmen Joe Sestak and Pat Murphy.

in the military. Who our President is generally does set the tone and the culture of our military. With this President though we aren't experiencing as much silence coming from the wingnutty leaves on the tree. They feel very free to rattle in the breeze and not affect their job possibilities.

If only President Obama could fight like Gibbs does :) I'm not crazy about Gibbs BUT......when people break their agreements with him he is willing to put life and limb on the line. I am impressed, I can help it, he went out there swinging for the WH press corp when people decided to change the rules. Sometimes we all have to show up for the fight, otherwise bullies just ignore your rights and bully on.

Pres. Obama comes to India begging for jobs, promising Boeing sales, stating his admins. will now support India's bid for perm. U.N. Security Council seat. And Gibbs gets into a scuffle with Indian security saying he'll withhold the Pres. of the U.S. from a press conference with Pres. Singh. And this is a good thing?

I think it is more about how avoiding the fights leads us further and further away from the truth and being effective. Being overly polite these days just enables the thugs. They use it against you you know. They factor your sure surrender in for the sake of manners as they draw up their battle plans :)

in the Halloween pictures of the kids. They were very high quality and he said that they scanned in huge so he has to compress them before I can use them. I will put up the photo of Zoey when he is done, she isn't even three yet but I am told she is so much like me it is horrible....and you will see what my poor mother had to deal with.

it was great. I will buy it for my library. At the end though, in a little historical inscription across the screen to wind up the story, it says something about how shortly afterwards the Roman Empire split and all the Christians took this to mean that the end of the world was at hand and that everyone must lead a holier life in order to prepare for it. Jesus Feck, they've all been nuts all the way back to the very damned beginning. When Grandma Vera would get flamed and say that all they could ever talk about since her birth was the end of world she wasn't just kidding me and it they've been unable to focus on anything else for much longer than that :)
