    HRC orders illegal spying (5.00 / 1) (#3)
by waldenpond on Sun Nov 28, 2010 at 02:06:41 PM EST
gasp!  Say it isn't so.....I am shocked I tell you, shocked, that the Democrats are so craven and corrupt that HRC would order spying on the UN in violation of the UN convention.   I am enjoying that the Dems are as bad in most ways as Repubs and (cough) progressives still proclaim their committment to ensure far-right Obama is reelected.  USA!  USA!

    I'm only surprised (5.00 / 1) (#7)

administration has already succeeded (along with the corporate lackey press) in shifting the story of the leaked documents to one of whether or not documents should be leaked.

The contents of the documents, and what they reveal about the sordid character of our current and former administrations, is not being brought up for discussion.

I think, in a democracy, we the people should have a say in whether or not we think it is a good idea to spy on the Secretary General of the United Nations.

And that is but one issue which is not being addressed by the media or that sorry bunch of hacks in Washington, D.C.

    Baby Digby's brother won his puppy class (5.00 / 1) (#9)
by Militarytracy on Sun Nov 28, 2010 at 08:08:20 PM EST
today.  I didn't go to do that, I went to give him some ringtime because of the two he has the personality a little behind in development.  I have arrived home stunned.  Even though they are puppies maybe I need to be showing them regularly.  He did very well, and Digby looks great too.  They are so young though, but they are both well put together and sound.  It was an AKC show too and the judge is considered a "Shepherd" judge.  Her choosing him isn't small taters.

His first day in a coliseum (none / 0) (#28)
by Militarytracy on Mon Nov 29, 2010 at 10:09:42 AM EST
really challenged him.  Hundreds of different dogs and all the noise reverberating in the shell. He was blown away.  But I took his dad with us too and his dad will sleep in a packed coliseum and helped to lend him some confidence.  On the second day they were both napping ringside at my feet, he had already caught his second wind and just went out there and did it when it was his turn.

is how perfectly she is falling into all this.  her reaction to the "tools" was chilling.  in a totally good way.

also I see possible redemption for Quinn.  he will be the one to stop the detective I think.

Regardless of who dies, the house of cards is close to tumbling. There are just too many people that are close to the secret. And even if you eliminate Jordan Chase, Liddy and Quinn, there still is Deb, who will undoubtedly determine that Lumen is the vigilante taking out Chase's Funky Bunch. Will Lumen find herself behind bars? If so, can she take the fall for Dexter and keep his secret? Regardless, Deb will see her brother Dexter in some new light since he knows Lumen.

interesting speculation about Lumen.  I dont think so.  I think she is the new superhero sidekick.  but that may be wishful thinking.  you would have to tie me up in a sack to make me miss the next two episodes.

    this is funny

We know she told Lumen the truth about her gang-rape at summer camp (and Jordan's former life as a fat boy named Eugene Greer).

funny because they just fired a guy here that I seriously disliked.  his name was Eugene Greer.

    from IGN

"I was planning in episode five of Season 2 to do a flashback episode where you saw some stuff with Batiatus," DeKnight explained. "Because we all love John Hannah, and John Hannah expressed an interest in coming back and doing a little something. So it was just a one episode, [where] part of the episode was a flashback. Once we found out what was going on with Andy [Whitfield] and we stopped production on Season 2, I thought, well, maybe how about I blow that up to a two-hour show and we air it in January while Andy's recovering." What was a two-hour idea then became a six-hour mini-series about the earlier days of the House of Batiatus and a different champion Gannicus, played by the newcomer to the cast, Australian actor Dustin Clare. [Check out IGN's recent interview with Spartacus star, Andy Whitfield, here, where he discusses his successful battle with cancer and getting ready for Season 2 of Spartacus].

but it looks like Spartacus is not coming back:

New 'Spartacus' lead casting down to three

Three actors are in the running to be the next Spartacus on Starz's Spartacus: Blood and Sand, it has been reported.

by Militarytracy on Mon Nov 29, 2010 at 01:12:02 PM EST
look in conformation speak.  Not overdone, not underdone, beautiful coats and faces and both have really good ears too though I prefer Digby's earset a little more.  They are more on the top of her head and Major's are a bit more to the side.  After all that though, the german shepherd world is very very competitive...they can hold their own.  Now I have to train them to show themselves off well to put them over the top because they will go up against other dogs who have all the same stuff going for them too.  It took three generations to get them though.  Now I understand why breeders don't let very many of their best dogs go to outside homes if they can help it.  It is hard work getting here.

It seems obvious that if the democrats, who still hold the houses, do nothing about the tax breaks for the wealthy, it will sunset without action on January 1.  If that happens, it will take active work to get it passed again, with potential negative fallout. Sometimes doing nothing may be better than working with an issue.( I am aware that the middle class breaks also sunset)

I was watching "Face the Nation" on CBS.

Bob Woodward was asked about Karzai having trashed American policy in Afghanistan - and then, after a meeting with Sect'y Clinton, he said he was 100% in agreement with that policy.

Woodward attributed this to Kaizai's "mood swings".

    I laughed out loud.

Nothing will produce a "mood swing" like a good old fashioned threat of assassination or, short of that, a nice disappearance to an unknown destination.

    Glad I missed that (none / 0) (#8)
by ruffian on Sun Nov 28, 2010 at 06:14:43 PM EST
But least he was not attributing it to HRC's mood swings. That is progress in the Washington press corps.

Also according to the leaked documents the karzai's did not know how much we knew about Hamid Karzai's brother's illegal activities. Maybe a little frank talk non that score produced a 'mood swing'. I know it works among me and my siblings.
