Disagreeing With The Beltway Bloggers Means You're Nuts

For all the sturm und drang over the "incivility" of Markos Moulitsas' book American Taliban, it is quite ironic how willing the Beltway Bloggers are to call Dems who don't agree with them delusional. Here's Jon Chait (who has a long history of this sort of thing):

Every time a Democratic leader tells the base to stop whining and wake up to the fact that this is the most successful period of liberal governance in more than four decades, liberals just get more petulant. But, seriously, look at results like this, per Greg Sargent:

A new poll from Pew and National Journal contains a really striking finding: Only one third of Democrats think this Congress has achieved more than other recent Congresses. Meanwhile, 60 percent of Dems think it has accomplished the same or less.

This is just nuts. This is, objectively, a very productive Congress.

Yes. VERY "objective." It's the old "I'm objective and you're not" routine. What a bunch of clowns.

Speaking for me only

it depends on your age. To me this congress has done less than most who were given that much power if he they used it, they used it for bad legislation.

    Yeah, I thought this was laughable. (5.00 / 3) (#3)

Obviously, what people wanted was legislation to address their present pain. For instance, Tier 5 unemployment benefits. Tax amnesty for the unemployed. Jobs for anyone who wants one. Health care that doesn't involve massive deductibles and large co-pays.

But since members of Congress and their staffers aren't affected by this kind of pain, it didn't interest them.

Perhaps on Nov. 3rd they'll finally get the idea.

Few passed inspection or had the features that the customer base wanted.

BTW, if the problem was just a few malcontents, the Dems would be running away with the upcoming elections.

The issue I have is we had massive majorities, nearly the largest ever, and even though production was good, it should have been far better.

They let the republicans control nearly every single debate/message.  And in my opinion, the D's haven't put anything down of real significance that the R's can't remove in the next two years if they grab the majorities.

Not holding a vote over middle class tax cuts right before an election pretty much sums up the past two years.

post below below about Obama's backroom deal with the hospitals and trading away the public option, and the continuing drumbeat of the Villagers and the Inside the Beltway Bloggers (as well as the various spokespeople in the Administration) who disparage any Dem who is critical of the the "accomplishments" of Obama et al.....tell me, Armando, are you still a "Big Tent Democrat," and do you think that the Democratic Party can heal this rupture and find some common ground?  I'm not being sarcastic here, I would really like to know what you think.
