Tom DeLay Unplugged

Dancing With the Stars pro Cheryl Burk has her work cut out for her this season with former House Speaker Tom DeLay, but his appearance last night was fun to watch and I give him props for trying to loosen up. The judges didn't know what to make of him. The first elimination is tomorrow night.

    Thank you for wallowing in ... (5.00 / 1) (#4)

... this audio-visual cesspool, so I don't have to - well, okay, because you're sincere, I'll be honest with you.

I'd sooner watch the entire four-hour production of Eugene O'Neill's Long Day's Journey into Night, as performed by a cast of 4th graders.

The dork is strong in this one.

I didn't know he had it in him.

    I much prefer him (5.00 / 1) (#6)

as a Dancing with the Stars contestant over House Speaker. Of course, that isn't saying much since I pretty much despised him in that role. The upside to Dancing is that when he's hamming it up now I don't have to worry that its at the expense of the average American.

    I don't think he will last (none / 0) (#1)

too many competitions. Was there another male dancer last night who should be eliminated ahead of him?

I was actually embarrassed for him.

A few seconds after Tom began to dance, the screen disintegrated into clor blotches and then went to black.  Dunno if it ever came back on!

Now that I've seen it online, I know a good deal more than I want to about this needy creature's midlife crisis.

    Embarrassing to watch.  No props.

the lure of a train-wreck video.

I give him props for trying too, but boy did he fail to succeed!  Side note, I don't think I've ever heard a more soul-less version of "Wild Thing"...its as if Tom sucked the soul right out of the track by his mere presence.

    I didn't think he was too bad (none / 0) (#8)

what I thought was funny is how hammy he was (which the judges hate), presumably to embellish his "manliness."  "Vote with the Republicans, party with the Democrats."  Right, Tom.
