Pelosi: House HCR Bill Will Include Public Option

Ryan Grim:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters at a Thursday briefing that she was glad to see the Senate making progress on its version of health care reform but she emphasized that the House plan would look markedly different - by including a public option. "I fully support the public option. The public option will be in the bill that passes the House," Pelosi (D-Calif.) said purposefully.

Still in play.

Speaking for me only

Nancy, now that you've told us we'll have a public option, show us what it is.

Robust or crap?  that is the question.

We've had to ride the donkeys and their caravan so damn hard though.  The most wicked of the blogosphere had to show up every single day and whip them to the wire, day after day after day or the donkeys would have begged the "mainstream" media to derail the discussion in the weeds to get stuck there.  I'm ticked about that.  They get put away wet.  I'm not going to reward Great Feats of Cowardice!

Is this your truthy word invention or is the HCR bucket brigade passing this around?

ex CIGNA CEO. He used that description when testifying before a House Committee on health care. I thought it was very accurate and have adopted it when discussing the Baucus plan.

I really like your invention of  the public option brigade.

The smart Dems are looking to distance themselves from Obama at this point. It's very likely that linking one's name to Obama could be a disadvantage in the mid-terms. Crazy, eh? Who'd 'a thunk it six months ago?

that some were super-delegates at the convention who now may be acting differently in Congress is, frankly, fairly unconscionable of them.  They will look more the fools if they try to pretend they weren't the ones who gave us Obama as president.  It is their responsibility now to bring him around if need be -- as much as it is his to bring them around -- to live up to all their promises to serve the people who are the core of the party and this country, which doesn't mean the big donors.

Yeh, as if unconscionable behavior by politicians  is news.

I fear that even Krugman has been bought by that visit with Obama at the White House.  And not bought by money.  (An economist ought to know better.)
