We're grilling tequila lime chicken and watching Weeds (tivo'd from Monday) tonight.

    chicken pasta I had was very good, and the "small" portion was supposed to serve 2-3 but probably would do for about 10 people.

    But I regifted a $50 BdB gift card to my brother for Christmas.  The nearest one is quite close to our house, but the service is way too slow for our children (even though I've used every trick I can to speed things up "Here's our drink/appetizer/entree order") and they've made mistake after mistake on our take out orders.  (We get free food that way, but we'd rather just get the order right and on time.)

    When the service at McD's and Panera looks good compared to a sit down restaurant, that restaurant has problems.  What's even more disturbing is that it is corporate, which usually means that someone is looking over the local manager's shoulder.  Either corporate is lax on oversight, or the corporate standards are low.

    The regift worked out.  My bro was taking his fiancee's family there for dinner.

    ago. I had been there previously a two years before. IMO, it's gone downhill in the last two years. The first time I went there it had some interesting and unusual dishes that were delicious. This past time the menu wasn't really and different than any run of the mill Italian restaurant. The only thing that I thought was really good was the caprese salad.

    judgment in the al-Haramain warrantless wiretapping case; it's not just sickening for what it sets out that the Bush administration was doing, and their not-very-secretive admissions that they were doing it, but it is equally sickening because the Obama administration is defending it.  State secrets and all, you know?

    The opening alone popped my eyes open:

    Obama and Holder - well, they are quite the pair, aren't they?  Campaign on the Constitution, speechify about the crimes of the Bush administration and the need for transparency, really feed the enormous need of a significant segment of the citizenry to set things right, and then...sell them out.

    For 4 boneless, skinless chicken breats: I juiced two limes and one orange. I added 1/4 cup Patron Silver tequilla, 1 tb asian fish sauce, 1 tsp garlic chile sauce, 1 tb canola oil, 2 tsp splenda, a dash of salt and pepper. I marinated it for an hour, put it on the grill and basted as it cooked. I thought it was pretty good, the TL kid likes my honey mustard chicken better. Do the honey mustard, it's fail-safe and delicious:

    2tb dijon mustard
    2tb honey
    2 tb fresh lime juice
    1 tb low sodium soy sauce
    1 clove garlic minced

    We had it with corn on the cob and this salad:

    arugula on a plate,topped with (in a pile):

    1 slice beefsteak tomato
    1/2 sliced avocado
    slices fresh mango

    If you make it, let me know how it turns out.

    Well I just tried the dish but left out everything but the lime and tequilla, adjusted the tequilla to taste, and mmmmmgoood..

    Illinois Democrats vying for the Senate seat currently occupied by Burris include Christopher Kennedy, son of Robert Kennedy. Chris is the CEO of the Merchandise Mart, which used to be owned by the Kennedy family.

    Will be interesting to see how this goes.

    as I've lost the last 2 days (f***ed up my knee the other night), but I'm sure I'll be enjoying the online interaction with friends/my fantasy leagues :)

    oculus: I'm pretty sure one of the sports channels shows the derby. I'd check the sports cable channel of the network hosting the game and then go espn, etc from there. I know I've unintentionally gotten hooked on watching it before :)

    He's trying to decide whether to show up for the "Men Tell All" Episode that is filming Saturday. There's a live audience and it's filmed live to tape (and then edited of course.) His contract says he has to go but there's an exception for work/personal conflicts. He's performong Friday night in Texas. I told him my advice was to skip it, using the analogy, "The jails are filled with people who thought if they could only tell their side of the story, the police would see it their way and let them go." So I agree with you, it's best for everyone if his 15 minutes are up, he'll never overcome the edit, but I like the guy.
