As the Worm Turns: Blagojoveich Aide to Plead and Cooperate

Former Ill. Gov. Rod Blagojevich's chief of staff, John Harris, has agreed to plead guilty to a single count of wire fraud. In exchange, he will cooperate against Blagojevich and Fitzgerald's office will recommend a sentence just under 3 years.

The plea deal was not unexpected. Harris' lawyer sayd he began cooperating almost immediately after indictment.

    Sometimes the only way to get the big worms is to let the little worms get off easier. As long as the proccess is regulated and only the little worms get the deal, it is a powerful weapon against the mob, gangs, and other large criminal organizations.
    Unfortatly, sometimes deals are made with big worms or the process is poorly regulated. And that is what hurts the system.

    But how many other Chicago pols are are bit nervous with this turn of events?

    Should be very interesting to see who else falls from this...
