Judiciary Committee Votes 13 to 6 For Judge Sotomayor

Only one Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee voted in favor of Judge Sonia Sotomayor's nomination to the Supreme Court. It was Sen. Lindsay Graham. The final vote was 13 to 6.

Judge Sotomayor will undoubtedly be confirmed when the full Senate votes.

Great they stood up for their base. The problem is that their base is determined to reduce the Republican Party to a regional and permanent minority.

Now if we could ever convince the Democratic Party to get a backbone, we might accomplish some great things.

Isn't it 'interesting' that with 60 in the Senate and a huge advantage in the House that there's no movement in that changey direction? I know the Dems are corporatists too but I was hoping for a little progress.
Time to start primarying from the left I say.

by this vote?  Appeasement of the Joe Arpaio crowd? Just further and probably permanent alienation of Hispanic voters, I think.

The GOP seems to be in a vindictive, nasty, and self-destructive state of mind.

they want the record to show that Roberts and Alito got more "aye" votes.

And it sends a message to their constituents that they'll fight for the rights of white people and guns.
