Chuck Todd: Ricci Majority "Legislated From The Bench"

What's funny about that clip? Joe Scarborough acts as if the phrase has never been said before. Of course he never heard it applied to judicially activist conservative jurists before. He was nonplussed. Pretty funny. Good job Chuck Todd!!

...does seem comically apologetic at the end for having to spoil Joe's lunch, when I wish he could've added a bit of righteous thunder to that rimshot.

Still, Scarburro is such an empty jackass, he doesn't even want to pretend to care.

to describe her flaws; it's total, complete.

She carries her ignorance so gracefully, so effortlessly

    She, simply, is a flaw.

I guess you need something to distract from the fact the large majority of Americans agrees with the Ricci decision.

Blowing numbers through your butt? Is that the same large majority that supported McCain to trounce Obama. Oh wait, that news was from the same fraudulent pollster who told you that a large majority of Americans are in favor of doing away with Title VII...

whether you deem it equally relevant that a large majority of Americans agree with Roe v. Wade.

I believe that the stats bear out that it is 'conservative' Justices ad Judges who throw out laws they don't like or interpret them in ways not intended by the legislatures. So it is always funny to me that Activist Judges are always seen as the liberal ones.

The New York Times defined judicial activism as a vote that runs counter to or strikes down a law passed by Congress. Ruling to change legislation is a pretty good measurement of "legislating from the bench." The tally for justices is below:

    Thomas 65.63 %
    Kennedy 64.06 %
    Scalia 56.25 %
    Rehnquist 46.88 %
    O'Connor 46.77 %
    Souter 42.19 %
    Stevens 39.34 %
    Ginsburg 39.06 %
    Breyer 28.13 %

There was some discussion of this on several blogs.
