People continue to gather at the UCLA medical center, at Michael Jackson's rented residence in Bel-Air and at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem.

Janet Jackson's spokesman says she's devastated and flying back to California from a pre-filming location. The autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.

The only watchable TV coverage of the night has been Anderson Cooper. The best guest on all the networks: New York criminal defense lawyer Ben Brafman, who at Johnny Cochran's request, represented Michael Jackson during the early months of his criminal trial. No spin, no self-promotion, just well-told examples of interactions with Michael, whom he described in part as a very frail, lonely "man-child" who seemed to be in great pain.

Goodnight, Michael, Rest in Peace. I only wish many of those coming out to praise you tonight had been there for you yesterday.

    they declared him dead because I knew it would get ridiculous.  I will remember Michael Jackson for his music, his genius, and his gentle spirit, and I will not indulge in any of the tabloid sensationalism that has already erupted.  RIP, Michael.

    innocent regarding the child molestation charges?

    I've always assumed (and could have done so wrongly) that his actions where by in large innapropriate if not illegal and if he hadn't been a celebrity he'd have gone to jail.

    As for him personally I feel sorry for the extremely weird person from an innability to grow up and from being thrust into the national spotlight at a very early age.

    I would compare him with Elvis in that being the kind of once in a generation superstar led to a lifestyle no human could manage or make normal by most standards.

    While it is always bad to disparage the dead I feel the media is glossing over the real issues he seemed to have with young boys and the reality that those actions drove him into solitude and bankruptcy.

    Either way I must say I loved his music and may he RIP.

    last night.  I knew it would be the beginning of the weeks long "Michael Jackson is still dead" coverage.
