Like Chris Bowers, Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) is still fighting for the public option.

Would love to see some fight from Joe Sestak on the issue. The rationales for supporting Sestak are becoming less apparent by the day.

    to show its Jason Voorhees qualities.  It gets declared dead over and over again ... then it rises again.

    And though I'm not a big fan of Spector, I can't quibble with this:

    And when Senator Lieberman talks about single payer, I think he's putting his finger on the pulse of it. That's what people have concluded [but] the public option isn't single payer, and it is not going to add to the deficit, it's going to be a level playing field. So I would like everyone to read the fine print and [for my colleagues] to re-read the fine print.

    is that the mere existence of a primary challenge could be what's pushing Specter to the left. Then again, maybe he's just voting how he wished he could have voted all along, or maybe he's just trying to fit in with his new friends. Either way, who cares. If he's pushing for a progressive platform, then great!

    Sestak WAS good in that way. Problem is Specter is now to the Left of him.

    if he wins, i think we all know he will track right back to the center/right and we'll be raising holy he11 about how he's such a snake etc etc.
