Happy Christmas Eve

The war isn't over, but it's Christmas Eve. We send our best thoughts and wishes to those in our jails and prisons, the children of the incarcerated, and everyone in nursing homes and hospitals.

And of course, to TalkLeft readers and bloggers everywhere.

If you're looking for good music, KBCO in Boulder will be commercial free from 6pm MT through tomorrow. You can listen live here.

Our Xmas eve dinner thread is here -- this is another open thread, all topics welcome.

    Thank you (5.00 / 2) (#1)

      Thank you for reminding us of all those in jail. In Florida we are now over the 100,000 mark in our prisons with far more in the county jails. A few miles from my house there are nearly 1,000 people in the Sarasota County Jail, and another thousand fifteen more miles away in Manatee County. Very few of these inmates pose any threat to public safety.
        In our new decade, let us all make criminal justice reform one of our primary issues.

    @cpresley's daughter......

    Nothing to worry about; the bad karma/pumpkin pie myth was adjudicated in 1747 when St. Nicholas (the one with all the juice, from Stalingrad) beat  ole Santa (the wimp, From Iceland) in their war of curses. St. Nick reversed the "foot `n pumpkin" bad karma curse, and replaced it with his benefactor, Czarina Kandaurovas's  favorite curse: The S.U.G curse ("The spontaneous, uncontrollable, giggle curse.")

    So now, stepping into a pumpkin pie, instead of suffering the fears `n tears of the past, you may just be subjected to bouts of uncontrollable giggles, sometimes breaking out into gales of unstoppable laughter. Sometimes you laugh so long you can barely catch your breath. (I mean, you wouldn't expect to get away with NO punishment.)

    You got your work cut out for you, Cp. But at least you should be grateful it was a pumpkin pie that your little girl squshed, cause if it was apple, WOAH!, different story. Trust me, you don't want to go there.

    So tell your daughter, "stop crying; start giggling."

    Ho ho.....

    Rough bedtime for the 3yo tonight.  I guess this is what the night before Christmas is like!

    My daughter-inlaw made a pumpkin caramel pie for our Christmas dinner (we had ours tonight), and our 7 year old grand-daughter stepped in it getting out of their car.

    I don't know if this gives her bad karma for the year, or if she is forgiven for all bad deads this year because she felt so bad it happened.

    He expects that the subsidies will be upped and the revenue source will be "modified" from the Senate bill.

    Other highlight: says Congress must pass more aid to states. Sounds good to me.
