No Criminal Charges For Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods will receive a citation for careless driving, no criminal charges will be filed. Woods has withdrawn from his tournament this week, citing injuries sustained in his car accident.

In other news, Roman Polanski won't be released until Friday.

Update: Is this really a video of Marilyn Monroe smoking pot? Looks like a cigarette to me, from the way she's holding it, but lots of folks say it's pot.

For one, she inhales and just as quickly exhales - that's not how I used to do it back in the day.

For another, I'm not even sure if she actually takes the smoke into her lungs - it almost looks as if she's fake-smoking.

    Finally, why do we care?

a regular smoke to me, too.  The way she held it casually between the forefinger and middle one sez standard issue Tobacco Road stuff to me.

Not that I wouldn't credit her for going for the cool, "jazz" type smoke either.  Marilyn was in fact more than just the shallow sex symbol persona she created for films -- she enjoyed reading about Lincoln for instance -- and probably boldly explored some areas of life beyond just the fancy book larnin' she was undertaking while married to that famous author.

it looks like an awfully symmetrical, smoothly cylindrical item she's holding, not normally the sort of neat perfect shape I recall (years ago of course) from my home-rolled herbal smoke days ...

...for an unfiltered cigarette.  But, really hard to tell from the video.  The only thing I really got out of it is that I would love to have had MM sitting on my couch, no matter what she's smokin'.

story that went along with that video.

The person who made the film confirmed that the cigarette contained marijuana, saying: "I got it (the pot). It was mine. It was just passed around."

    Or so he says, anyway.

born around when Marilyn was born, who has a mechanical device that loads pot into a stnadard cigarette wrapper. I think it loads a filter as well.
