Sunday Football Open Thread

An important week for most teams. For instance, if the Giants lose for the 5th straight time this week, you really can't see them in the playoffs. They play the Falcons today at the Meadowlands. They are 7 point favorites. I think Atlanta (+7) keeps it close.

The J-E-T-S! JETS! JETS! JETS! have a funny man as coach in Rex Ryan. But the league has been laughing at them now for a month. The Patriots are still discussing Belicheck-4th Down Gate. The Jets have the urgency. I'll take the Jets (+10.5). More . . .

Tampa Bay has played better and New Orleans has played worse of late. Yet, the Saints are unbeaten. I like Saints (-10.5).

San Diego travel to Denver. I still do not respect the Broncos. Neither do the oddsmakers, who have made the Chargers a 4.5 road favorite. I like San Diego (-4.5).

You think NBC is thrilled with its Sunday night Game - Philly at Chicago? Me neither. I like the Iggles (-3).

In other games, I like the Raiders (+9.5), Chiefs (+10), Ravens (+1.5), Rams (+9), Seahawks (+10.5) and Redskins (+11).This is an Open Thread.

in the Denver Post about a guy who got tired of the system and began living in a cave.

And from his cave, he stated that if the Broncos rebound this week, society will be redeemed and he will return to his career.

...that someone who claims to have such an aversion to money and material things isn't adverse to taking advantage of his friend's material goods (like a house) in the Summer's when the cave "gets too hot".

He's not living off the land, he's living off the waste of others, and so he's much more reliant on the society he has "withrawn" from as one might think on first glance.

film on Vikings website.  This a.m. as we waited for bluegrass brunch, lots of people in NFL jerseys walking to sports bar next door.  Including a Favre Vikings shirt.  But no Percy.

Pats win.  And they cover the spread.

4 picks is no way to win a football game (on offense).  But it is a good way to get rid of the "Pats defense lost morale" storyline.
