Sunday Football Open Thread

The New York FOOTBALL Giants travel to New Orleans today for a battle of the unbeatens (I am trying to see how many cliches I can fit in this paragraph without throwing up.) Can the immovable Giants defense check the unstoppable Saints offense? This will be a huge game and whoever wants it most will win. As long as that is the same team that has less turnovers, cuz that always decides the game. Or unless it is the team who runs the ball better, cuz that always decides the game. Or the team with the better kicking game, cuz kicking games always decides games.

For all the reasons stated above, PLUS the fact that I am a NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS fan, I am picking the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS (+3) over the Saints. More . . .

The Vikings host the Ravens today. In a shocking development, Percy Harvin is questionable to play because of an injury. I still like the Brett Favres (-3).

The Falcons host the Bears tonight. I like the Bears and Jay Cutler, but I think the Falcons want it more (kidding), and am picking Atlanta (-3)

Cincinnati is on a roll and I like their team. But their home game today against Houston is just the type of game they lose. I am taking the Texans (+5).

How bad is Tampa Bay? Carolina is terrible. Their one victory this year was over Washington. Tampa is playing Carolina at home today. Carolina is a 3 point favorite. I am picking the Buccaneers (-3) so I can write 'you scurvy dog' and other such things today. In addition, I can write that the Buccaneers will be flying the Jolly Roger on a great grand ship to Lunnon next week to play the Patriots at Wembley Stadium. Watch out for the Rowdies (soccer reference.)

to give your cliches a workout, you should remember that you forgot:
how will the crowd noise in the dome (2 there) affect Eli (3d)
Will the fact that the Saints' defense has been practicing with crowd noise pumed in (4) help them
    Eli coming to his hometown
How does Archie feel about this

I mean, go watch Bull Durham to get the drill down.

not to sign w/the Chargers, who drafted him.  Probably a wise decision, but still . . . .

Did the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS (of New Jersey) accidentally leave their secondary in the Meadowlands? That was ugh!-lee.

If I'm going to make the effort to get up to watch the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS (of New Jersey) at 7:00am Hawaii time on a Sunday morning, the least they could have done was try to look competitive.

Oh, well, it's only week six. If they learn from the experience, then taking one on the chin like that may be the best thing for the NEW YORK FOOTBALL GIANTS (of New Jersey) over the long haul. I remember how the Patriots bounced back to win a Super Bowl a few years ago after getting absolutely embarrassed at home in Foxboro by the Buffalo Bills, 31-0.

P.S.: Seriously, what other New York Giants team is out there, that you'd qualify it so in your post? The NEW YORK BASEBALL GIANTS (of San Francisco) moved out of town over 50 years ago. ;-)

the giants at least kind of look like they have a clue what they're doing on the field, the same cannot be said of the redskins, a team in complete disarray.
