Saturday College Football Open Thread

Will he play? That's the question of the day in college football - will Florida QB Tim Tebow play when the Gators travel to Death Valley to face LSU. My view remains that even if the doctors clear him, he should sit. Concussions are a very serious thing. Even with Tebow, winning in Death Valley at night is almost impossible. Florida is a 7 point favorite over LSU. I can not imagine LSU getting beat by 7 at home. In any event, Go Gators!

My first selection pick (I'm 15-10 (.600) on the season) is Iowa (-8) over Michigan. I have never been a believer in Michigan and Iowa's offense has improved. Iowa should win easily. More . .

In Tallahassee, the behavior of FSU boosters has been appalling. Bobby Bowden is FSU football. He gets to decide when he quits. To confound the critics, Bowden's FSU team (-3) beats Georgia Tech today.

Talk about no respect, undefeated Wisconsin is a 16 point underdog at Columbus today. Ohio State has a mediocre offense and Wisconsin is not terrible. I like the Badgers(+16).

Stanford travels to Oregon State today. I think the Cardinal are for real. I like Stanford (Even) today.

Hey Alabama travels to Oxford today. While Ole Miss is a good team, the Crimson Tide could be a great one. I like the Tide (-4.5).

This is an Open Thread.

Arkansas does not field a great team on offense, but it can be potent. Arkansas' defense is woeful.

Auburn has a strong offense and a pretty good defense. Will special teams hold on to the ball and convert FG's?

by joze46 on Sat Oct 10, 2009 at 11:40:54 AM EST
In Iraq during 2005, 06, 07, MSNBC is currently talking about the war as being very dangerous and the country was in civil war. This is now on MSNBC this afternoon. All while Bush and Company at that time declaring success and America wining the war. When actually Iraq was and is nothing more than a cash cow of profiteering with wide open corruption. MSNBC was embedded in this war reporting a key player in covering up.

All this time, for me remembering Bush and company and the media calling it ridiculous to the notion of a civil war in Iraq. Iraq was reported as not having a  civil war at that time. It was a total lie and now MSNBC is telecasting this difference. Not only as a difference but after the civil war our solders are accepted more, now. I don't think this is true. If it was our troops should rotated out immediately. No debate about that...

For me, this is again a total lie Iraq is loaded with same kind of corruption that has permeated in Afghanistan and total defiance of American's being there. This kind contradiction is massive bias balanced as nothing more than a smoothie sense in supporting the cover up of the massive republican bungle that they are key player of.

Here is my point, and dealing in a total reset in Americas policy. Immediately Obama makes a complete new plan for any war that is initiated by any president he must have an energy plan that involves the "whole country". In a time of war we finally see its nonsense for a small percent of the population of volunteers to go into arms way plus suffer personal stress and grief only to be hailed as heroic and patriotic while filing for divorce and bankruptcy or committing suicide plus having mental disorders while not being able to find a job. All a present of the Wahabbi Bush friendship. American media digs into the deep past of Clinton and Michelle Obama's slavery connections but nothing about Bush family their past connection to Bin laden family the richest in the world in the most huge contradiction in Presidential personal friendship so tightly connected to favors and war. Some call it treason.

With an energy mandate in war time you will see how fast Americans will stay in a war. Not long.  An energy plan that mandates fuel rationing personal and industrial. America you will see the concept of war policy change real fast. Which needs to be done? America it is insane to buy sixty percent of our energy needs from the very friends, the Bin Laden's, very close friends of the Bush family. The Bin laded the primer financers of their so Osama Bin laden family master mind of the war.

But MSNBC goes on every sunday about social domestic stories very polished crazy stuff, wahhabi perfect tails of an American prison system that does not work along with a justice system that is luny. The polite perfect sunday wedge for christian devisiveness propaganda.

in 2nd quarter. Ducks' QB Masoli is out with a knee injury giving QB Nate Costa his first start after missing all of last season with a , that's right. . . a knee injury.

We've been hatin' on Rick Neuheisal since his days coaching at Colorado. We hated him at Washington, and we really hate him at UCLA. Oh sure, Ducks and Huskies have a big rivalry. But we really hate Neuheisal.

    Go, Ducks!!

After scoring zero points in the first half, the Ducks score 2 TDs in the first 26 seconds of the second half. Second TD comes on an interception and runback for the score.

    Go, Ducks!

I can't stand the Rockies (for obvious reasons). I've always hated the Dodgers. But...I actually finally did buy my first ever Dodgers cap. This came about because I went to a Dodgers game wearing my favorite retro Padres hat (brown and gold, you know) and I actually met a very high up Dodger person (long story) who ragged on me about it (the Padres weren't even playing) and he was really funny and so I promised I would get one. So I did.

I actually have a soft spot in my heart for the Angels -- they are easy for me to root for on the AL side...I just don't like the AL in general, because the DH is a perversion of baseball...

The Oregon win over UCLA, combined with the Oregon State win over Stanford, puts the Ducks at the top of the Pac-10. Now they just have to get through Washington, a team revitalized by new coach Sarkisian, and then play USC at Autzen.

I think they can do it. Go, Ducks.

had won 32 straight Saturday night games in Death Valley. A win on the road there is a great win even if you do nothing but run the ball up the middle the entire game. It was a boring game to watch but a win is a win for the still undefeated Gators.

BTD is an excellent handicapper. No one, I repeat no one, can hit 60%.

    Try it.

31-13, so not quite "on" for that game. However, I expected OSU to lose too. I couldn't watch the first three quarters, spent more time in the garden, and didn't believe in the win until there were about 2 minutes left in the game.
