Welcome TalkLeft's Newest Blogger

TalkLeft is ringing in the new year with a new blogger -- Journalist and author Ethan Brown.

Ethan has written about street crime and criminal justice policy for New York, The New York Observer, Wired, Vibe, Radar, The Independent, GQ, Mother Jones, The Guardian and Men's Vogue. [More...]

Ethan is the author of two books, Queens Reigns Supreme: Fat Cat, 50 Cent and the Rise of the Hip-Hop Hustler (Random House, 2005) and
Snitch: Informers, Cooperators and the Corruption of Justice (Public Affairs, 2007). His next, and as yet untitled book will chronicle the life of Zackery Bowen, an Iraq war veteran involved in a high-profile murder suicide case in New Orleans. The book will be published by Henry Holt in the fall of 2009.

I "met" Ethan when I hosted the Firedoglake Book Salon for Snitch. Ethan lives in New Orleans and will be writing for TalkLeft on crime issues and whatever else strikes his fancy.

I hope you will join me, Big Tent Democrat and TChris in giving him a warm welcome. His first post will be up shortly.
