Golden Globes Red Carpet

The red carpet arrivals are beginning. You can watch them on E!

Who looks great? Who miscalculated?

It's my favorite part of the show. Last year we didn't get a red carpet because of the writers' strike. And 2007 was just so-so. I think they will put double the effort into this year's show.

Since we are all in different time zones, once the awards start, no spoilers on the winners, please! [Updates Below]

Update 5pm MT: Bruce Springsteen will be at Mickey Rourke's table, he wrote the song for the Wrestler.

Eva Longoria looks stunning in a beautiful red gown by Reem Acra. Susan Sarandon looks a little drab in a Hugo Boss tux -- she's with her son who looks just like Tim Robbins.

Amy Adams' face looks very pretty but I'm not sure I like her Oscar de la Renta dress, it's very shiny, and full.

Jenna Fischer's floral dress is terrible. Even worse is Madeleine Martin. I'm also not crazy about the eggplant color of Rumor Willis' dress.

Christina Applegate's dress -- a pretty yellow but I didn't like the hip pleats. (Robert Cavalli.)

Leonard DiCaprio looks very hot. He's with Kate Winslet who looks very chic -- very elegant, great fitting black dress. Alex Baldwin's tux fits very well. Kiefer Sutherland looks really good. So does Sean Combs.

Debra Messing's ponytail is awful, it totally detracts from her gown.

Brooke Burke's dress color is too similar to her skin tone. Same for Penelope Cruz, although Cruz' dress is elegant.

Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange are hanging together because they have a new film coming out. They both look good. Drew's dress is John Galliano, very pretty.

JLo just arrived, but E! is going with the Jonas Brothers. I think she's with her husband, although supposedly they are splitting up. Her dress is a gaudy gold that seems to be ill-fitting on top, but maybe it's the angle.

The Billy Ray/Millie Cyrus family just arrived. They are so country.

America Ferrera's dress is awful and it fits terribly in the bust. Kyra Sedgewick and Eva Mendez (in white Dior) both look terrific, although the bow on the front of Mendez' dress is too big.

Beyonce looks beautiful but her dress is unflattering around the hips. Brad and Angelina just arrived.

Ann Hathaway is in Armani Prive. I'm not crazy about her look, her makeup is harsh.

Glenn Close's outfit is awful.

Renee Zellewegger's dress is odd and she was incredibly stiff and stilted on the red carpet. Not her best night.

McDreamy looks like he just woke up. Selma Hayak looks beautiful. Tom Cruise is with his mother.

Rachel Griffiths has the prettiest highlights in her hair. They go with her gold dress but the dress is a little toga like. Sandra Bullock looks very nice. Sting has dyed brown hair.

The awards are about to begin on the East Coast. I'll update this post with photos until the awards start here in an hour when I'll start a new thread on the presenters and winners.

    He seemed, um - high?
    Kinda jumpy, off the wall.
Hope that is just the way his is.
He's an actor I like to watch.

    enjoying your Joan Rivers imitation!

P.S.  Saw Renee Fleming in Christian La Croix gowns in Metropolitan HD movie of Massanet's Thais. Fleming reminded me of a slightly older but just as beautiful Nicole Kidman.  Stunning.

P.S.  Is Jennifer Anniston anywhere in sight?

    haven't seen Jennifer (none / 0) (#5)

Hate that beard. He was pretty exasperated with the red carpet lady on NBC. I know they ask dumb questions, and she thought he was nominated for something when he wasn't...but still...

    the glamour and clothes....

I would hate to have Demi Moore as a mother, and come out looking more like my Dad. That's gotta hurt.

None of the gowns are knocking me out here...seems like I've seen them al before.

I said the exact same thing (none / 0) (#12)

when they showed Rumor--that's gotta be tough...

What was with Ashton's goofy bowtie?

And is it me, or did Bruce look younger than the last time I saw him? (I'm a Jersey girl who loves him, just sayin')

the golden globes together, I don't think BTD is into award shows.

I'm used to doing this every year and not having anyone comment because no one cares. I'm really glad to see a few comments tonight.
