Four Hour Season Premiere for "24"

After 20 months, Jack Bauer and "24" are back with a four hour premiere, spread over Sunday and Monday nights.

Janeane Garafolo joins the cast as an FBI high tech analyst. Catfights with Cloe?

The President is a woman, Cherry Jones. Thoughts of Hillary?

Is this going to be a revamped "24", cognizant that torture is wrong? Probably not ... then there would be no need to call on Jack during emergencies. And if they merely put dialogue in the mouths of the agents claiming torture is wrong, who will believe them? It will be comical and the show will lose any vestige of its remaining credibility.

Here's a guide to the new season. [More...]

I'll be watching the Golden Globes and saving "24" for the dvr.

You can pre-order the full season 7 of "24" now.

Cherry Jones?  Terrific actor. She was the nun in "Doubt" on Broadway.

    When I read this I thought immediately (none / 0) (#2)

about you.  Looks like you're going to be getting a little 24 in.  I never wanted to watch this damned thing but I'm not sure I can pass up a cast line up like that.

I think Kiefer Sutherland is a wonderful actor also.  Two hours of anything except maybe a really good opera exceeds my tolerance level.

on the internets that has never seen an episode of 24.
Wonder if I should keep it that way?

    I recommend continuing (none / 0) (#5)

    your perfect record.

The first season was well written.  The lead character did not "die", there were no furriners threatening the hallowed soil of America, and the lead character had problems with his family.

After the first season, the writing slipped, slid and finally wallowed in hardcore melodrama combined with the flimsiest premises.  A highly contagious & fatal virus that can live for days in a hostile environment (mixed with a crystalline drug) and outside a host?  That's just one.  They've had more - including bringing Bauer back to life twice.

Maybe if Joss Whedon wrote a season I'd watch it especially if he writes another musical episode!  I'm soooooo there.
