It was a great day and evening.

The TL kid had one surprise for me....when he left for college he somehow managed to get me to part with my Guild guitar, which wasn't really mine, but his dad's, which his dad had gotten in Haight Ashbury around 1967. (Somehow I had managed to keep it all the years he was growing up.)  I've been trying to get him to bring it back ever since.

Today he did, with a beautiful stand for it to rest on. He tuned it for me and we played and sang and had a great time harmonizing and recorded ourselves on the Mac(and then promptly erased it all when we played it back and realized what we sound like) but it was so much fun and I am so excited to have the old Guild back.

I even dug out all my old music.  My absolute favorite to play is Dead Flowers by the Rolling Stones. I'm always amazed that I have a kid who grew up singing lines like "I'll be in my basement room with a needle and a spoon and another girl to take my pain away" and he didn't turn out to be a drug addict.

Anyway, another birthday come and gone, and thanks to all of you for your very special comments and contributions, and to Anita...what a great friend she is. (And, it was her birthday yesterday.)
