TalkLeft Birthday and Appreciation Weekend

I've been blogging so much I completely forgot that my birthday is Sunday. It's not the big one, but close enough to make me less than cheerful.

We're all been working really hard here. Not just at keeping you up to date with the latest on the election, but in making sure the site stays civil and weeding out the drive-bys and blog-cloggers who come here not to have a reasonable debate but to slam and insult our readers or try to hijack or dominate the discussion.

If you appreciate our coverage, or want to buy me a birthday drink, here are the links. If you're short on funds, don't give it another thought, we'll get by:

donate to TalkLeft

Here's the paypal link, it's very easy. If you don't like paypal (which takes credit cards if you don't have a paypal account) feel free to pull a few dollars out of your pocket and send it snail mail. The address is below the fold.

More...:

If you can't afford a few dollars, don't worry about it. This is only meant for those who can. Thanks to all of you for reading TalkLeft. You are all appreciated, including those who politely disagree with us.

Update: Thanks to those who commented below and to Tom Maguire of the excellent conservative blog Just One Minute for writing about this.

just remember that the Big One isn't really the Big One.  Everytime I pass one milestone, I discover that the next milestone is really the Big One.

I've supported this blog monetarily in the past but I no longer feel welcome here so I will hold my cash in hand until things swing back to the way it was before.

I wish you continued success and hope that many of us will be welcome once again.

Happy Birthday, and remember we don't get older, we get better! You guys are the first thing I read every day. I missed Armando when he left DKos (yes, I go back that far), and am glad to read all of you here. You have been a real haven for me. Thanks. Marsalt

Jeralyn, you'll be a great representative of (as Steinhem put it) "what 50 looks like"  once you hit that big one.  I'm hitting 2 decades above that one in two months, but since my mom saw only 44, reaching anything above that has been a celebration time.  Good health is everything.

Blogging is keeping you young, as well as all that other activist stuff you do  :-)

Though we may chafe at the bit sometimes, thanks for keeping an interesting, fun place to discuss the horrors (we don't have to say what that might be) and better things with allowance made for varying points of view to pretty good degree usually.  As you say, it's your blog and I'm glad you have it and share it.

A very happy birthday to you (none / 0) (#28)

I can't even type the number, my fingers choke at the keyboard.  But again, I'm not quite there and I'm still younger than Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn and a few others.

Don't worry about the "big one."

Remember, it's not how old you are but how much you have left that really counts!

Anita Thompson's birthday is tomorrow too. She's back at Columbia finishing up her degree, but you just reminded me I need to call her and wish her a happy birthday. (She's still in her 30's but when I'm around her we are exactly the same age.)
