$25 Million Road to Nowhere Opens In Alaska

The now infamous $25 million Road to Nowhere opened in Alaska this week.

Ketchikan Mayor Bob Weinstein said the 3.2-mile road now is ideal for road races and hunting, and possibly some commercial development. But with no bridge to serve it, that's probably about it.

If I were Sarah Palin, I'd drop both the Bridge and the Road to Nowhere from her list of accomplishments. They are just fodder for late night jokes and they speak poorly of her so-called executive acumen, not to mention her veracity.

I saw this article while cyber snooping today. I think Alaskans are probably relieved Miss Pitbull is our mess to deal with now. During my daily snoop, I managed to come across some info regarding the real reason Monegan was fired.

    she's not from nowhere.
    I'm from nowhere aka Ketchikan.
    Palin is from Wasilla.
I suppose it wouldn't matter for a t-shirt. The point would be made.
You could even make it less sexist by substituting a capital "B".

I've been waiting my whole life for that bridge.
I ran for city council a few years back and that bridge was one of the issues I supported. I do think it would open up Gravina Island to development. I don't think it will ever happen though. Of course it had to be one of the first things outta her mouth on a national stage.
    /sigh
I hope it's Ketchikan entrepreneurs that will be selling the hordes of "Nowhere 99901" t-shirts to the million or so visitors this next summer.
