Local News on Bloggers at the DNC

Denver's 9 News ran a story last night on the 120 credentialed bloggers at the DNC. I'm in it for a few seconds. During the taping I told them about the Big Tent which will offer space and a home base to hundreds of other bloggers without media credentials and gave them the address. It was 101 degrees out but the reporter, Adam Chodak, took his crew there and included it in the story. [More...]

The cameraman kept having me scroll through parts of TalkLeft for images to accompany the shot. Here's one of BTD's live-blogging a primary debate that is now sitting on their news page.

Chodak also interviewed conservative blogger Brad Jones about his intended coverage of the DNC. He said he has an exclusive interview set up with Nancy Pelosi.

but he looks like he wouldn't know a blog if it hit him on the head!

Jeralyn makes such a great spokesperson for the blogging community.  And she's different on so many levels from the stereotypes people hold about bloggers, which is an added bonus.

Where is that cubicle where you were interviewd? (none / 0) (#4)

Hope it was at the DNC or newspaper's office. Please don't tell me you are in a cubicle all day like I am!

Great job though.  Glad to see a blogger who 'looks like me' on TV instead of the usual youngish man - not that I have anything against young men!

It was taped at the 9 News newsroom (none / 0) (#5)

They actually have a large and very nice, modern building on Speer and Logan in Denver. But yes, their newsroom, like most I've seen, is made up of cubicles. The station execs have offices on one side of the cavernous room with glass windows looking out on the newsroom.

and lighting so you could read the computer monitor and see the blog.  I know that can be tricky.

It will be interesting to read that rightie blogger during the convention also. Sounds like he will, out of necessity, be doing a lot of man-on-the-street stuff.

Has anyone run across a good list of events yet for the DNC?

The best list for events during the DNC I've run across so far is at

    http://www.metrohikers.com/dnc_sign_up.html

you need to do the free registration for the site, but the event list looks pretty decent and apparently it's updated daily

    thanks that's a great link (none / 0) (#13)
