What to Do in the Free World

Neil Young sends us a Fourth of July gift:

In the spirit of Independence Day, Shakey Pictures is airing this special web video for the 4th of July weekend. For best results, we suggest that you connect your computer to a good set of speakers, set your volume on LOUD and fire up the BBQ.

Let Freedom Ring!

    Some fireworks to go along :) (5.00 / 1) (#5)

    Ok, so they moved the fireworks downriver a bit this year. Gave me a good view from my front room. Wish I had known, I would have done a bit of research on how to properly shoot them with my newest camera. And properly set up with a tripod!! But what the heck, I did the best I could on the fly {grin}

    that was wonderful. You have made Tokyo feel less far away from home on this 4th of July for a few wonderful minutes for which I am grateful... and also, with a slight (intended or unintended) dystopian flavor with the building in between that looks like it has been blown out in a nuclear blast. Probably something under construction rather than demolition. The word in Japanese for fireworks is hanabi (fire flowers). It certainly fits your pictures, doesn't it.

    All the TL musical selections queued into a nice set today. Eclectic and enjoyable.

    I grabbed the *.flv's and into a Real Audio playlist and shuffled the set during my earlier cookout. I think I'll enjoy shuffling it a couple of times more over the weekend.

    neighbors were setting off  non-PA approved fireworks.  A great combination of sights and sounds, and no John Williams soundtrack to spoil it.

    so many memories. Yes, we have all been here before. Between Woodstock and Altamont -- there's that word "hope" again followed confusion and violence. If only I could hope we will get it right this time.
