NBC, If You Don't Want To Cover The Dem Race, Please Stop Covering It

By Big Tent Democrat

Speaking for me only

NBC seems upset that Hillary Clinton is not likely to drop out of the race tonight. They really seem to not want to cover this race anymore. I think the solution is simple. Do not cover the race NBC.

Believe me, a lot of us will not complain if we never hear Tweety, Punchline KO Olbermann, Pumpkinhead Russert and Blowdried Brian Williams speak another word about it.

Do us all a favor NBC, black out the Democratic nomination race from your network.

And they have not been hiding their feelings on that. They have been very open in their derision of Hillary, particularly Keith, and even Rachel Maddow, who appears to me to be a rabid Obamaniac.  Why? Why compromise their "presumed neutrality" in this way?

Rachel Maddow has been largely impartial. I don't listen to her show so I could be wrong.

She is a Stanford grad and we overlapped there but I don't think I ever met there. Her analysis has been good I thought. She had the clearest definition of the candidates back when Edwards was still in the race.

    Tweety's inner "thoughts":

Who will prevent Hillary from destroying the party?  When will she let the party focus on the frontrunner?  Barack Obama has been winning every primary in every state. Even if she wins, she still can't catch him.  Will voters realize that the Clintons are in it for themselves?  Plus, she's a GIRL!  Don't you people realize, she's a GIRL! HAH!!!

I solved the MSNBC problem last fall.  Erased those programs off of my DVR. Tired of the pontificating and the outlandish commentaries. Occasionally I watch.  Watched a bit this afternoon, but as soon as the bloviator (KO) started in, immediately, on Hillary, that was it for me, and I switched.  You are correct that they are unbalanced and do not cover the Democratic primary fairly.

I cannot BELIEVE that this is what passes for a NEWS channel these days!! I mean, really - MSNBC in particular has become the Liberal Faux Noise station, and these other NBC people are SO blatantly biased!

I am old enough to remember when tv journalists were actual, honest-to-goodness, journalists, who NEVER let on what their personal choices or opinions were.

Along those lines, I was talking to my niece and nephew abt how upset I was with Keith O (wom I used to watch religiously) because he was so CLEARLY an Obama supporter.  My nephew said, "What's wrong with that?"  And I replied, "That I KNOW he is!"  My niece's mom went on to support my claim that news people didn't use to spew their own personal takes on things like they do now.  Sigh.

And if NBC cannot even acknowledge that Obama and his campaign filed a lawsuit, AND have engaged in voting shenanigans, what the heck is the point of them bein gon the air??  Oh wait - just proved your point, BTD!

Bring the television set to the recycler. Yes, do it! TV is bad for you, get rid of it. Do it and if you use the extra time to do something creative you will not feel the loss. You can watch Olbermann's special comments at Crooks and Liars, as a little indulgence (which I indulge in, myself).

It is possible to do work with a radio or audio stream going, which doesn't distract the eyes and hands, and there are BuzzFlash and so forth, so you don't have to miss out on news.

Imagine a world where no one but Faux News viewers had TVs, and could not pull themselves awary from it; they would be completely at our mercy.

I just want people that give me the facts and have enough respect for me as a citizen and a voter to let me make up my own mind. (Sorry didn't mean to sound so pontifical. Just the way I feel. May I find BuzzFlash's anti-Hillary slant particularly egregious because I was so enamoured of them previously.)
