a Clinton voter come this Tuesday -- and a country western fan like her Mom, too. Took my daughter to meet Hillary Clinton more than a dozen years ago, and it made a difference in her difficult and courageous life. This will give her a good day, so thank you, Jeralyn, as I had missed this link in the earlier post.

something along of the lines that if there were a meeting, a race-based strategy would be disqualified as idiotic politics. To paraphrase. And I guess that can be argued.

I did see your comment earlier today, and I was struck by your assertion that "there was [a] meeting--literally, a meeting, in which the chiefs of the campaign team sat around and came up with this plan." But you seem not to actually know that there was a meeting. Do you have proof of any such thing? I really haven't heard anything quite like that before. And if you have no proof of that happening, then it's hard to use it in your argument.

This sounds alot like the Yes We Can video on youtube (You know for those brainwashed "Obamabots"), but with even less substance. Also her healthcare plan is completely ludicrous and benefits the insurance companies. It forces everyone "Universally" to pay for crappy corporate healthcare. Thanks Hillary, your straight from the middle class and have turned your back on us.

Sorry didnt mean to ruin your happy yay Hillary thread. Even though it enforces every bad stereotype that exists about your candidate ("This ones for the girls").

There are a lot of women who have had major influences in my life, and I've seen the enormous struggle each has had to undertake simply because they're women. It's not unseemly to think that having a female president in the White House, who has lived the female experience for 60 years, might actually be able to give a unique voice to 50.4% of the population. I don't find it unseemly that Obama captures 90% of the African-American vote, I think that people ought to vote for the person who they think will do the most good, and I think it's valid for them to vote almost entirely for a person who can mirror some of their experiences and understand their plight.

No, it makes me proud that unlike me, little girls will no longer be limited to hearing only the message, "You can't do that because you're a girl."

Forget your dreams and aspirations and limit your horizons and expectations because while you might be smart, ambitious, courageous, talented and hardworking, you were born female and that means you'll never be good enough no matter what you do. Heck of a thing to tell any child.

They'll still run into it, but it won't be universal. Thanks, Hillary.

for reminding me (in a previous article now closed to discussion) that I, as a man, have no right to defend another man from accusations of sexism. What was I thinking?

Seriously, can someone please tell me what exactly in Senator Obama's quote was sexist? Was it the "feeling down" phrase? Do men never feel down? Down emotionally, down in energy, down in polls? Obama's team should call this bluff. If Obama's quote was blatantly sexist why doesn't Hillary's campaign run with it and put it all over TV in the remaining states? They won't do that because they know there wasn't really anything sexist about it.

It is irresponsible of BTD to write such a baseless accusation (in the 16Feb "These Kinds of Sexist Remarks Are Not What I am Looking For" article). This is typical mudslinging: if it doesn't stick, who cares, no one will remember; but if it does stick, then you help your favored candidate. This particular accusation falls into the no one will remember category. Even if it fails, BTD should be ashamed of stooping to that level. Failing an outright apology, BTD should give more explanation why the serious charge of sexism is warranted here.

This blog has taken on a vaguely depressing feel. People are grasping at straws, throwing bombs, and making stuff up. There is a lot of intellectual dishonesty here. I hope it passes after we have a nominee.

Try taking a couple of the points from those threads that just aren't clear to you and come on back. Otherwise, we would have to do more hundreds of posts saying the same thing again, and they apparently still wouldn't do it for you.

Sunday afternoon and it just picked up my day.

For some reason, whenever I think about the 'girls' I think about my Mom and all she's seen, fought for, won and lost. So I shed a tear thinking about all of that.

85 yesterday, when Jeralyn posted this. And if my mom was here, she would have loved it! She was a hard-working Dem in every campaign for decades.
So I sat down with my daughter today and showed it to her -- plus the lovely Alicia Keys "Superwoman" video on Clinton (and on youtube, too). And then we got out our calendars to figure out when we're free to vote Tuesday -- we're going together, so that someday, she can tell her daughters that we did so.
May my granddaughters not think it so unusual for a woman to run for president. Their late great-grandmother worked hard for this day, and we owe it to her generation and many, many more before them.
