Obama, Udall Win Colorado

Update: Goodbye Marilyn Musgrave. Colorado went blue big time and Musgrave, one of the most conservative members of Congress got replaced by Democrat Betsy Markey. Five of our seven representatives in Congress and both our Senators are now Democrats. McCain/Palin didn't even win big Republican counties like Jefferson, Arapahoe and Larimer. That's really something.

Bump and Update 10:45 pm ET: The Denver Post also calls Colorado for Obama and Udall. Add 9 to Obama's CNN total, all he needs now is California. The "personhood" amendment is dead.

9:42 pm ET: The Rocky Mountain News reports Barack Obama has won Colorado. Rep. Mark Udall will be our next Senator. Hooray!

Obama won conservative Jefferson and Arapahoe counties by 10 points. He beat McCain in Denver by 4 to 1. [More...]

At least 63 percent of Denver’s active voters cast their ballots before the polls opened on election day. According to Denver Clerk and Recorder Stephanie O’Malley, nearly two-thirds of Denver’s 312,445 active voters cast their ballots by mail-in or at early voting centers.

The radical right's personhood amendment which amend the state constitution to define "person" to include "any human being from the moment of fertilization" is losing 6:1 in Denver and 75% to 25% elsewhere.

Dems are SWEEPING the Senate; and the House? How will Nancy and Harry maintain stasis, going forward?

...just the other day!  It appears from the results of Amendment 48 that the Religious Right stayed home this election.

    Come on Markey!

Apparently, The American Conservative Union ranks Musgrave as the most conservative member of the House, with a 99 lifetime rating.

Also, I was doing some free-lance research when she was up for re-election in '06. I quite easily found that she was officially endorsed on the website of the KKK; big picture and all. I did a screen-capture and passed it on.

very much about Markey, but it's a shame we weren't able to get Angie Paccione in that seat.  She is aces.

that because it looks like we will not get 60 Senate seats, the night is a big loss. Complete absurdity.

Regarding Pandora's box, this is funny (none / 0) (#15)
by FoxholeAtheist on Tue Nov 04, 2008 at 09:35:55 PM EST
    From Wikipedia:

Pandora had been given a large jar and instructed by Zeus to keep it closed, but she had also been given the gift of curiosity, and ultimately opened it. When she opened it, all of the evils, ills, diseases, and burdensome labor that mankind had not known previously, escaped from the jar, although Pandora was quick enough to close it again and keep one value inside: hope.

There is no reason to think Pandora acted out of malice in opening the jar, for she was exercising her curiosity, and also when she saw what was let out of it, she quickly closed it.
