TrooperGate Report Out Friday

The Alaska Legislature's TrooperGate report will be out Friday.

In lieu of testimony, seven employees, after Republicans lost their lawsuit to have the probe declared invalid, answered written questions under oath.

First Dude Todd Palin had until today to get his answers in.

A legislative panel has scheduled a meeting for 9 a.m. Friday to receive Branchflower's report on Monegan's firing and whether Palin or members of her administration abused their powers in pushing for the dismissal of a state trooper involved in a child-custody fight with the governor's sister.

Who didn't cooperate? Gov. Sarah Palin. [More...]

The big exception is the governor herself, who had said initially she would cooperate but has since resisted. Legislators decided against hitting the governor with a subpoena, saying they wanted to "de-escalate" tensions between her and the Legislature.

"We tried to schedule a statement from her but it never worked out," French said.

Update on Todd Palin's answered interrogatories here.

On a silver platter for McCain.

I'm sure this will totally distract people who are worried about their homes and jobs.  Really!

But it gives CNN and McCain something to yammer about.

No difference in the end, but I don't think it's helpful.

I am very confident that any time McCain wastes talking about something other than the economy is harmful to his campaign.

But that's also probably another way of saying that this doesn't matter at all.

"The Fundamentals of the economy are strong"...and "I don't know anything about economics"

The more of that, my friend, SteveM the better says I Salo.

Even if you say the wrong thing about the economy, at least SOMEONE will like it.

But no one cares about Troopergate, Ayers, or any of that other crap right now.  It doesn't matter how much time Fox News spends trying to stir up a scandal.  No one is listening.

The Alaska Supreme Court is supposed to rule tomorrow on the suit by disgruntled McCain operatives, er, State Senators, to invalidate the legislature's investigation.
