Will the Big Ten Sweep?

You heard it here first:

Big Ten Country Will (Mostly) Go Blue

That prediction may have been unduly pessimistic. The Big Ten Battleground Poll gives Barack Obama the lead in all eight Big Ten states.

The Badgers, Gophers, Hawkeyes, Spartans (or Wolverines), Wildcats (or Fighting Illini) and Nittany Lions are solid blue. The Buckeyes are looking good. It will be an Obama landslide if the Boilermakers (or Hoosiers) turn blue. Can the Big Ten sweep? Will it be America's Bluest Conference?

I am glad to see the Big 10 trending for Obama.

Funny thing about the Big 10 having 11 schools.  I try not to notice that.  People might think we can't count.

the beginning that our first Big Ten Candidate since Mondale would bring the entire conference into the blue and if that happened Obama would win in November. Illinios is the center of the conference which helps.

I have always felt like the Big Ten was superior academically to all but the Ivy league and if they go for Obama, it makes my case. Pac Ten and Big East are in the team picture also. SEC and Big 12...yikes. Missouri is our only good hope there.

to mention that he is the US Senator from the state of Illinois where he has lived for more than two decades. Illinois is in the Big Ten.

    Hope that explains it.

(yep, uberRepublican coach Joe Paterno) has been working for Obama from the beginning.  At the Obama Rally, back in March, on the PSU campus, and again at the Allman Brothers/Dead show, also on campus, he brought out several Nittany Lions to rev up the students.

It's been interesting around here, lately.

But the Big Ten has the best chance.

The SEC could be a sweep for McCain.
