Only Two More Weeks

I think you may have noticed that Senator Obama's supporters have been saying some pretty nasty things about western Pennsylvania lately. And you know, I couldn't agree with them more.

I couldn't disagree with you. I couldn't agree with you more than the fact that western Pennsylvania is the most patriotic, most God loving, most, most patriotic part of America, and this is a great part of the country.

Thank you for making your position clear, Senator McCain.

    and too revealing.

What the reporter should have asked the AIP nutcase who doesn't want the "lower 48 telling them what to do;" was what Alaska, which receives $1.87 in federal largesse for every $1.00 dollar in taxes paid, would do to survive.

    Thanks for the link jerry.

Q: is there anyone who thinks this guy should be allowed anywhere near nuclear weapons? (Or sharp objects?)

I couldn't agree more with disagreeing less with Senator Obama and you about whether or not you and Senator Obama agree with me about disagreeing with Western Pennsylvania being the God-lovingest, Americanest, patriotickest, socialists in...oh, well, you know what I mean.

    You Betcha!

"Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel."

Dr. Johnson's prophecy about Sen. McCain:

"A man sometimes starts up a patriot, only by disseminating discontent, and propagating reports of secret influence, of dangerous counsels, of violated rights, and encroaching usurpation. This practice is no certain note of patriotism. To instigate the populace with rage beyond the provocation, is to suspend publick happiness, if not to destroy it. He is no lover of his country, that unnecessarily disturbs its peace. Few errours and few faults of government, can justify an appeal to the rabble; who ought not to judge of what they cannot understand, and whose opinions are not propagated by reason, but caught by contagion."

What the crowds response really shows (5.00 / 1) (#12)
by MyLeftMind on Wed Oct 22, 2008 at 11:53:04 AM EST
is that there are a core group of Americans who are desperate to believe the GOP cares about them and their issues.  The crowd practically had to carry McCain over the line in completing that sentence:  Quick, we're ready to cheer for your support of our values, quick, get some words out that we can feel good about, Patriotism, God-loving, patriotic, most, most patriotic part of America, a great part of the country, Yay he got it out, Us vs. the bad liberals, cheer, cheer, cheer...

McCain is NOT representative of main street America. He and Palin are just another political mirage, like so many Republicans.

The question is, how much longer will that core group be fooled?  And how can we bring them back into the fold of reality to start working together for America's future?

how sen. mccain is so certain of this? did he meet everyone in w. pa and have a talk with them, to find out their views? does he have some kind of crystal ball, that imparts this knowledge to him? how, precisely, does he, or anyone else, know exactly how patriotic an entire area is?

hey, people want to know, dammit!

    It's a simple equation: (none / 0) (#15)
by coigue on Wed Oct 22, 2008 at 12:20:38 PM EST
    P = MV x 100,000

P = a person's patriotism and amount they love God

MV = how much McCain/Palin needs your vote.

    this

"In a report released Tuesday, ratings agency Standard & Poor's says there are 140 large U.S. companies in danger of not being able to pay their bills in the next few months, up nearly twofold from the beginning of this year. Among the troubled firms on the agency's list are such household names as clothing retailer Eddie Bauer, amusement park operator Six Flags and pizza chain Sbarro. Also on the list are doughnut baker Krispy Kreme and mobile technology titan Palm, as well as a number of the nation's largest airlines, including JetBlue and the corporate parents of United and American."

    or the impending retail crash

    http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/chi-wed-retailers-liquidators-oct22,0,1001861.story

when the first stimulus package had this effect:

"When talk of recession emerged late last year, legislators in Washington quickly passed a bipartisan stimulus package that featured almost $120 billion in tax rebates. The plan was to combat an economic slowdown by pumping money into the economy and keeping demand high and consumption steady. And when second quarter GDP rebounded to 3.3 percent (since revised to 2.8) from the more anemic 0.9 percent, economists widely credited the influx of cash distributed in the spring courtesy of the Federal Treasury. "

And the impending effect on car sales that will implode next year eliminating 100k jobs give or take 100k.

    Meanwhile, congress does NOTHING.

Anyone have Joe the Plumbers email addy?  They seem to be listening to him perhaps he can tell the pols that the ship is sinking.

The impact of the anticipated and current job loss will be devastating on hard working Americans next year.  Can anyone give me ONE reason why our candidates and representatives are NOT addressing this crisis????

Two weeks before the biggest election in my lifetime and we are getting no representation.  Why is that not the main story every night on the news?  Most likely because the talking heads are all earning over 6 figures and have no clue what it is like to deliver newspapers, pizza, work as a cashier, a sales rep etc, living week to week.
