Heading Home: Open Thread

Iowa is behind us. This was a great experience and I want to thank the readers who sent in donations to help with the cost. (It was expensive.)

I won't be going to New Hampshire but Big Tent and I will blog about it anyway.

I'll also be returning to blogging about crime and injustice issues.

I'm leaving for the airport now. I have to say, cold as it was, Iowa is a fine place to visit with very nice people. It was a pleasure to be here.

This is an open thread, all topics.

Update [2008-1-4 12:7:33 by Big Tent Democrat]: Jeralyn did a fantastic job giving us on the ground coverage. I think we owe her some support for her great efforts. I urge you to contribute to TalkLeft to thank Jeralyn for her wonderful efforts.

Thermostats will need to receive price and emergency signals from utilities and adjust conditions in response to these signals. Thermostats will manage the mechanical ventilation systems in many new homes, and future thermostats may also control lighting, pool pumps, and other energy-intensive activities through a variety of communications networks.

    and...

State regulators. Sociologists, anthropologists, and experts in user experience will also participate.

Yes sir. Pay no attention to the man behind the screem....

Oh. Your doors are locked? You can't get out? And you hear sirens approaching your home???

    My, my, fancy that.

    Thanks for the coverage.

While your anti-Obama, pro-Clinton bias has been driving me crazy, I appreciate your coverage, especially your on-the-ground work in Iowa.

And I really hope that you really do go back to writing more about crime and injustice.  That is why I started reading TalkLeft in the first place, and that is why this is the only major political blog that I read on a consistent basis.

With the exception of the Ron Paul phenomenon, which excites me, the primaries seem to matter very little.

Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Huckabee, Romney, McCain...if you think one of those six is worth getting excited about, I can't help ya.  We'll still be occupying Iraq, and living under an out of control federal govt. after any of their first terms....guaranteed.  Yawn.
