Liberal Fascism

Proving yet again that the Right continues to not fire on all cylinders, Right bloggers Protein Wisdom's Dan Collins and Darleen's Place seem to miss the tongue in cheek nature of my "rules" and the actual point of my post "The Media and The 2008 Election: The Perfect Storm of Clinton Hate.

Darleen accuses me of:

jaw-dropping self-parody (really too giggle inducing to be labeled nascent fascism as it would otherwise be deserved)

Earth to Darleen, my "rules" are not serious. No fascism being advocated here. They are intended to sarcastically parody the rules applied in the Dem contest BECAUSE of the Media's hatred of the Clintons. But of course I forget that she believes that the Clintons are Media Darlings against all the evidence and indeed, admissions of the Media.

No need to worry though Right bloggers, the Media does not hate the GOP, especially not St. John McCain. I am sure the Media will be quite ok with the smear campaigns that would be launched by the GOP and the Right against Obama should he be the Dem nominee. I am confident you will NEVER have to write a post like the one I wrote.

    This is what Obama.... (5.00 / 1) (#3)

...can look forward to, just as soon as the last nail is driven through the Clinton coffin.

All these people who act like they don't know why they are Republicans, temporary amnesia, will have their memories restored as soon as the target is Obama.

I haven't talked to any one who thinks the Republicans aren't going to target him, big time.

I respect and admire Hilary Clinton( thats why I don't have anything negative to say about her), but she is giving Obama  on the job training for any thing he may have to face in the future.(smile)

They are in a race, whether its against one another or a Rep.  Its to be expected.

Obama isn't going to be treated with kids gloves if he is nominated or on the ticket.  It would be foolish to think so.  I doubt if his backers would think other wise. Why would they

See, I am not sure this primary season really IS good training for Obama.

some where, why not now.  We really can't say how he will do. Time will tell. I am positive he knows all about how the media treats candidates and how they will turn on him just like they do every one else.

They don't have a problem publishing all the muslim and other things that have been said. If it gets the public's attention, they will print it. Thats what they are paid to do.

by Dadler on Sun Jan 27, 2008 at 03:24:54 PM EST
The MSM with Obama is like watching a bunch of WASPS at a step competition -- they don't understand, they're kind of afraid, don't comprehend its context or origins, and therefore they discuss it as a traveler might discuss a ritual dance they have never seen.  That Obama is bi-racial makes it even "harder" for them, since one can sort of imagine being black, but black AND white at the same time, heavens, that's just too much to wrap their little minds around.  So they resort to this type of prejudiced "analysis" akin to yachting commentators working that step competition at the urban rec center.  And in the process, they don't analyze a f*cking thing.

will be nothing.  They will have clips of Obama's "militant" preacher all over the internet and on television.  Folks can be surprisingly tolerant about a lot of things, but think about how important religion is to the average repub voter (not to say that dems are not religious, but they don't want to change the Constitution to reflect the word of God).

It's the afro-centric crap being exploited into something horrible by the repubs that will knee-cap him in the end.

(of course, I was totally wrong in my "bloodshed" prediction re: the SC primary, so take this with a grain of salt)

Yes, not only is Obama's call and response technique likely to turn off some voters, but his own pastor makes some really "out there" statements.  I get the impression watching and listening to Obama's speeches that the audience has been admonished not to yell out in response.

...this is not a "stop obama now!" argument for fear that he can't beat the criticism and win.  It's that he's not getting much practice right now, not with this ridiculous standard that's being applied against his primary opponent.

It's even more frustrating to see that this is what Bill Clinton rode in on in '92.  A wave of dissatisfaction with gridlock from Repbulican presidents and a Democatic congress.  The argument was for unifying, getting along, getting things done.

We've been there, done that.  People chose political parties for a reason and it's not so they can suddenly be for health care reform and fair taxation because of hope and inspiration whereas they have successfully made these things bad and have beat Democrats with thier opposition to progressive agendas.

getting worse unless I misunderstand this. The front page of Yahoo has a headline that reads "Clinton to campaign in Florida despite party's request". When you read the article, it says she is going to Florida after the polls close to thank the voters for wanting their voices heard.

So we can fund raise there but not thank the voters AFTER the polls close?

into this election. It is no coincidence that Obama received 80% of the Black vote and 21% of the White vote in South Carolina. The sad reality of America have risen, and the wealthy media tycoons are doing a good job with their honeymoon with Obama, just hoping he will get the nomination. The sad reality is that Obama will have a very difficult time being president of this nation. The media tycoons are hoping he gets the nomination so that their republican golfing buddies get four more years. If Obama is getting 20% of White Democrats vote (more open minded), how will he fear against the less open minded individuals. There is a conspiracy to give Obama the nomination. Race trancended itself.

"I am sure the Media will be quite ok with the smear campaigns that would be launched by the GOP and the Right against Obama should he be the Dem nominee."

I don't think it matters who the nominee is.  If it is Hillery, then the Dem's will be painted as racist.  If it is Obama, they will be sexist. And, of course, in either case they will be branded as fascists.

And don't think the narritive isn't be tested on focus groups like the fine folks at Red State and LGF.  Case in point, today's edition of Red State has an article entitled "Democrats:  The Party of the Klan?"

    Just a sample...

"I[t] is looking more and more like the Democratic Party, to its core foundation, is racist. In New Hampshire, white Democrats turned out overwhelming [sic] to reject the uppity black man who dared to challenge the Democratic establishment."

It has been noted that this type of projection may lead to the right-wing base getting the idea that the Dem's hold their same values, but are more compentent.

At any rate, I have absolutely no insight as to what does on in the mind of a wingnut.
