South Carolina Dem Debate Preview Open Thread

I'll be live blogging the Democratic South Carolna Debate tonight. It will be broadcast on CNN starting at 8 EST.

What I expect tonight is an uneventful debate praising unity, Martin Luther King, Jr. and the historic nature of the candidacies of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. We may get a lot of substance too. I expect no fireworks. But I have been wrong too many times to count in this election.

This is an Open Thread.

Update [2008-1-21 19:36:21 by Big Tent Democrat]: This is rich. Media Darling Obama complains about the Media: [More...]

U.S. Sen. Barack Obama said Monday one of the biggest frustrations of his presidential bid is dealing with national media that he says doesn’t correct inaccuracies about his candidacy and his record... Obama, speaking Monday morning to State newspaper editors, cited as an example the reporting of his remarks about President Ronald Reagan as an inaccuracy that hasn’t been corrected...

What a crock. Obama complains that the Media dd not report thathe disagreed with Reagan's policies. I guess he forgot that he had to SAY that for them to report it. What a joke.

    The Leagues FaceBook Voting (5.00 / 1) (#16)
by Kota415 on Mon Jan 21, 2008 at 06:25:39 PM EST
This debate is going to be just like every other debate them just telling  you what the people want to hear and never following through. Typical. But i was just on facebook and found this page with "The League" asking who you would like to be president and what issues concern you the most. It was actually cool. After you vote you get to see who your town/city is voting for and what issues your town caress about. Check it out. Heres the direct link. Apps.facebook.com/theleague

We can expect an intemperate shouting match.

    I'm still thinking (rather late, I admit) (none / 0) (#3)

about the significance of Obama's sharing the stage w/McClurkin earlier.  Is this the Obama campaign's way to reach out to the same people who came scurrying to the polls in 2004 to express their views against gay marriage?  Is Obama a secret Republican who believes  gender preference can be re-programmed?

Obama will be ready. This is just not his time.

His lack of "experience" will be questioned with some hard economic times coming this year. The champaign issue about the economy....we have to have have strong direction right now.
