As expected, Bill Richardson dropped out of the presidential race today. Here 's a transcript of his remarks.

He did not endorse any of his competitors. Instead, he asked everyone to make up their own minds and listed their strengths:

Senator Edwards is a singular voice for the most downtrodden and forgotten among us.

Senator Obama is a bright light of hope and optimism at a time of great national unease, yet he is also grounded in thoughtful wisdom beyond his years.

Senator Clinton's poise in the face of adversity is matched only by her lifetime of achievement and deep understanding of the challenges we face.

He also appeared on CNN's the Situation Room. When asked who he thought would get the Latino vote, he said Hillary Clinton had an edge but Obama could garner support from all minorities, particularly the young ones. [More...]

RICHARDSON: Well, right now, I would say that Senator Clinton has the edge. But Senator Obama has been able, I believe, to marshal quite a bit of support from all minorities. I notice that everywhere, especially younger minorities.
I think it's going to be split pretty even. I wouldn't discount Senator Edwards, either, just in the whole contest. You know, this guy has amazing resilience. There were times when it looked like he was down, but the guy keeps coming back, so, I think this is going to be a third person -- a three-person race with obviously the two at the top.

I guess Richardson did not understand what Edwards has been saying. Without a large middle class we are sunk as a nation and the corporate takeover of our government has been effectively moving the middle class downward. Good jobs overseas, devalued money, etc etc. The Corporate takeover (monopolization) of our media ensures more entertainment and less fact/news on our TVs. The corporate run government has demasculinated the EPA and deregulated all the polluters and refuse to stop the ruin of our earth in their pursuit of a dollar today.

Our corporate laden government has sold us to China and down the river. BIG debt, devalued money, deregulated banking industry resulting in subprime problems/defaults and slowly we are sinking into a recession.

Those politicians who do not address this problem are part of the problem.

Very smart...unlike Kerry who is less appealing with every day that passes.
