Hillary Rips Libby Commutation

Hillary Clinton, on the campaign trail with Bill in Iowa today, tore into President Bush's commutation of Scooter Libby. She told the Associated Press:

"I believe that presidential pardon authority is available to any president, and almost all presidents have exercised it," Clinton told the AP. "This (the Libby decision) was clearly an effort to protect the White House. ... There isn't any doubt now, what we know is that Libby was carrying out the implicit or explicit wishes of the vice president, or maybe the president as well, in the further effort to stifle dissent."

She also released this statement:

"Today's decision is yet another example that this Administration simply considers itself above the law. This case arose from the Administration's politicization of national security intelligence and its efforts to punish those who spoke out against its policies. Four years into the Iraq war, Americans are still living with the consequences of this White House's efforts to quell dissent. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this Administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."

Hillary also distinguished the Clinton pardons from the Scooter commutation:

Her husband's pardons, issued in the closing hours of his presidency, were simply routine exercise in the use of the pardon power, and none were aimed at protecting the Clinton presidency or legacy, she said.

No. Most were about money. The FALN scandal was about getting Hillary elected.

The Repubs should really come out swinging. I think Hillary is being highly stupid to want to talk about pardons.

During a recent debate she was asked this question:  Would you pardon Libby?
    She refused to answer!
She wasn't about to risk losing her status with the DC elites - funding her campaign.

Guess she didn't ever read all the pardons ol' Billy boy gave to family (Bro Roger for cocaine!) for all of their drug "issues". What an ass she is! She is in complete denial of her past life.

that she can make these comments with a straight face.   The Rich's gave the Clintons tons of money for the "Big Double Wide" in Arkansas (which I've been to) and I'm sure that had nothing to do with Frank getting special treatment so he could actually come back from another country since he was dodging the law in this one.

Honestly Jeralyn do you support Hillary's statements or are you simply reporting them?   You are way to smart to fall for this B.S.

Another case of do as I say, not as I do.
