Say hello to Matt Stoller, Chris Bowers and Mike Lux' new blog, Open Left.

It already has a thumbs up from Digby and Jane Hamsher.

What's it about? Matt Stoller explains here.

Mostly, its "trying to bring progressive activists and professionals from 'inside' and 'outside' the political establishment into regular, thoughtful, and active connection with one another."

I'm all for that, go on over and check it out.

    Hole in the head (1.50 / 2) (#1)

    I find the manifesto rather vague and almost empty of content. As the Yiddish saying goes, we need another left blog as much as we need a hole in the head. As it is, there is substantial duplication among the lefty blogs already. We need more original ideas, more substantial new formats; we don't need "progressive activists and professionals" (what the heck is a professional? Dentists, plumbers, dam builders?)
