Late Night: The Shrill Lizard

TRex nails the she-pundit at Firedoglake while Digby holds court with another edition of Digby Speaks, You Listen.

"Feminizing" male Democrats and "masculinizing" female Democrats is pretty much all she does.

This isn't brain surgery. Faggots, smelly fat women, it's right out of the adolescent lizard brain, and sadly it works on a certain type of voter --- probably more than we would be comfortable knowing about. Coulter is an extreme version of a conservative archetype whose entire worldview is shaped by primitive notions of male dominance.

If you'd rather watch the latest segment of the discombobulated she-pundit, she comes undone in full glory yesterday morning during Joe Scarborough's MSNBC radio show.

Crooks and Liars also piles on with a David Gregory segment with Elizabeth Edwards in which he has the audacity to say to Mrs. Edwards:

GREGORY: You said rather pointedly that you think Ann Coulter is guilty of hate speech against your husband and others as well. If you strip away some of the inflammatory rhetoric against your husband and other Democrats, the point she’s trying to make about your husband, Senator Edwards, running for the White House is in effect that he’s disingenuous, especially on the signature issue of poverty, whether it’s a $400 haircut or taking big money to speak in front of a poverty group. If you, again, strip away the inflammatory rhetoric, is that a real point of vulnerability that you have to deal with in this campaign?

Back to Digby who has one of the she-pundit's more famous quotes:

My pretty-girl allies stick out like a sore thumb amongst the corn-fed, no make-up, natural fiber, no-bra needing, sandal-wearing, hirsute, somewhat fragrant hippie chick pie wagons they call "women" at the Democratic National Convention.

Media Matters has some more of Ms. C's intentionally inflammatory rehetoric.

TRex' final comment pulls it all together.

What is she after? She certainly has no platform of moral ideals the Country should be pursuing. She's after one thing and one thing only: Fame. She probably saw the movie in 1980 and memorized the tagline, "Remember My Name".

"I'm gonna live forever, Baby remember my name."

it's possible he asks these questions in order to give her a chance to debunk them.

    I made a similar point on the earlier thread... (1.00 / 1) (#4)

on Coulter -- some of the people who listen to Coulter are embarassed by her persona but argue that "she has a point" if you get behind her rhetoric.  Gregory's question opens the door for Edwards to debunk that notion entirely.  Gregory may not have done that intentionally -- but he did it.

nah, i suspect not. after she passes, she'll quickly become an answer to a trivial pursuit question, and that's pretty much it. shakespeare she ain't.

    for you Jeralyn?

"she comes undone in full glory"??? Just a little suggestive don't you think?

I mean, some of those "adolescent lizard brain" types who think the poison witch is right up there on the pedestal with mom and apple pie come and read here.

(well, their lips move like they're reading, anyway).

You'll have them all frothing at the brain stems with that kind of talk. Censor yourself!
