Most Absurd Comparison of All Time

Via TPM, The Politico has been picked on a lot by the left blogs and today there can be no wonder why after this:

But, like Dwight Eisenhower's in 1952, Giuliani's national security stature after the Sept. 11 attacks more likely explains his continued popularity within the religious right, whose voters have long held hawkish positions on the issue.

Like five star General Supreme Allied Commander during the Good War/Greatest Generation Dwight David Eisenhower?

As Sargent puts it:

In the real world, of course, Rudy doesn't have national security stature at all. He was a mob-busting U.S. Attorney, ran New York as mayor for two terms, walked through the smoke and dust on 9/11, then did a bit of globe-trotting as part of his post-mayoralty moneymaking efforts. Rudy has no national security experience of any kind -- let alone "stature" in this field.

But Rudy gives good press conferences right Politico. Honestly, how stupid can you be?

Actually, any comparison of Bush to anything other than Satan's Ass Boils.

OK, so Giuliani never led an Army. But in comparison to those flying from Air Force base to Air Force base "trying to get out of harm's way" on September 11, he looks like Julius Freakin' Caesar.

Paul showed us in the last debate how Rudy can't even think about national security...its too complex for his "black and white, good vs evil" brain to handle.

Indeed. Rudy better have his reading assignment completed before the next debate. I'm sure Paul will quiz Rudy's supposed FP "stature".

Rudy could get through a chapter, his head would explode.

Not that Ron Paul will be invited to anymore debates...he asks scary questions.

Giuliani is pretty shaky ethically (none / 0) (#17)

My mother dated a lawyer who worked for Rudy Giuliani before 9/11, he quit in disgust for reasons of ethical conflict.  Client confidentiality issues aside, said lawyer could never repeat these stories publicly for fear of being sued for slander.  Suffice to say that they were horrific violations of the law and basic human morality.

I think we can do without that kind of thing in the White House...again!

He's ahead in the polls now because the Repubs will overlook Rotten Rudy's morals and questionable record to get someone with a chance of winning in '08.
