Who could forget Chandra Levy and Gary Condit? The San Francisco Chronicle featured Chandra's death this past week because it was the fifth anniversary since the discovery of her remains.

No one has been charged with the crime. It's considered a "cold case" but it's not closed. Chandra's mother still goes to D.C. once a year to meet with the police chief.

Whatever became of Gary Condit? He and his wife live primarily in Arizona where they own two ice cream shops.

"It's a family-run shop," Chad Condit told CNN's Larry King in 2005. "We scoop ice cream." Last year, Baskin-Robbins filed a federal suit claiming that the Condits had breached their franchise agreement.

Two families that just can't catch a break. Sad.

    I know I'm getting old, but I must be Rip Van Winkle.  I've thought the case was cold partly because her remains were never discovered.  When did that happened?  Someone please fill me in.

    someone's mother "just knowing" who the killer was. it was chandra levy's mother who was insistent, in the complete absence of any actual evidence, that condit was her daughter's murderer.

    i would submit that it was, in part, due to the DC police taking her allegations seriously, that scarce allocable resources were diverted from finding her real killer, in the first critical time frame after her remains were found.

    i'm not sure what qualifies mr. condit to be any more of a hypocrite than any other politician, care to clue us all in? yes, he apparently did have some kind of sexual affair with ms. levy, but she was hardly a minor at the time.

    Mrs. Levy ever said she thought Gary Condit murdered her daughter. Primarily, she wanted him to come forward with what he might have known.

    I also don't think we know that Condit and Chandra Levy had a sexual relationship.

    Please be careful with what you write and don't throw accusations around here. If you have a source for your allegations, post them.

    The last I remember reading about the Chandra Levy case someone had a tinfoil hat theory that her body was dumped over the ocean.
