Dems Introduce Gonzales No-Confidence Resolution

Democrats followed through today with plans to ask for a no-confidence vote on Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

"It is the sense of the Senate that Attorney General Alberto Gonzales no longer holds the confidence of the Senate and of the American people," it reads. Chiefly sponsored by Democratic Sens. Chuck Schumer of New York and Dianne Feinstein of California, the measure contains no preamble setting out the reasons behind the resolution, an omission made in hopes of drawing more votes.

The vote is scheduled for mid-June.

I really don't understand what a vote of no confidence means for Gonzo.  Does it have the same outcome as a non-binding resolution?

Politcal grandstanding on the part of Democrats.

They didn't get the War bill they want and they know their base is pissed so they're going to offer up a meaningless bit of legistlation in a lamer attempt to make their base happy.

Gonzo will resign no matter what the Dems do on this bill.   The free media coverage of this "scandal" is what's keeping it gong and until Bush feels real political pressure or a real crime is found nothing the Dems do is going to matter especially considering they just lost a game of Chicken with the president when the polls are on their side.

Just calling them like I see them.

or a real crime is found

Gonzo lied to Congress, a federal crime.

Goodling admitted that she violated civil service laws, also a crime, for which she has immunity.  She also said that McNulty lied to Congress.

How many crimes do you need?

... bushlickers have been excusing everything from torture to secret prisons to illegal wars for years. Ain't nothing you can say that will convince a bushlicker that bush did wrong ... even after bush admitted he did wrong (see 16 words, saddam has WMDs and we know where they are, last throes ... etc etc etc.)

I don't have ANY confidence Humpty Dumpty or his King.

But right now I don't have a lot of confidence in the resolutions the Dems bring to the floor either.  I'd rather he just be removed from office rather than whined at.
