Rosie O'Donnell to Leave "The View"

At 11:00 a.m. E.T., Rosie O'Donnell will announce she's leaving "The View".

(Clip available on TMZ at 11:15 a.m.)

I've never seen the show, and I don't really get what the fuss is all about with her, but she's been making the news a lot lately, so I thought I'd report it.

Update: Her contract was up and they couldn't agree on terms for the next year. Barbara Walters says she's sorry to see her go.

Well, there's the 9/11 conspiracy theory, the racist joke, and the gross slander of the British military, all on high-profile forums with high-profile criticism.

    Good riddance.

She was funny as hell in A League of Their Own but has mostly made my skin crawl ever since.

She also said she'll be back with specials, and other things.  This is not about the controversy of her most recent statments.  It's a personal choice.

The bigger news is that Alec Baldwin will be on the show this Friday.

They could care less about her views so long as ratings are up and they are.  It sounds almost amicable and they definitely want her continued participation.

A person whose opinion is worthless leaves a show no one watches.

Must be a slow news day.

Watching Rosie lately is like watching a person unravel in slow motion. She seems like a person who is dealing with a lot of personal stuff and I hope she gets the help she seems to need. If not for her, then at least for her wife and kids.

Sort of like watching Britney Spears without the sexiness.

Trump got a lot of milage out of the Rosie kurfuffel and so did a lot of righty talking heads becaus frankly Rosie is a postar chile of a loon with extreme uninformed vies.

I Tivo'd the show a few weeks ago just to see what the fuss was about and it pained me as much as having to listen to Oprah in the background when my wife watches it.

The ladies on the show talk over eachother, Rosie is the loudest so she gets heard the most and Elizabeth H is too wimpy to get a word in and when she finally does she can only offer up the "you're wrong" defence.

Poorly informed lefties countered by poorly informed righties is why this show is terrible.

Everyone has the right to an opinion but television opinions based on headlines and conspiracy theories makes for awful television.
