March Madness - Elite 8

Today Kansas meets UCLA in what should be a fantastic matchup. UCLA has a terrific coach in Howland, play great defense and has big stars in Afflalo and Collison. Kansas probably has the most talent of any team left. Rush is a bigtime player. Self, the coach, is not all that however imo.

I pick UCLA to win.

In the other game, the miracle Buckeyes meet the no respect Memphis Tigers. I had A&M winning this region but they blew the Memphis game. I still don't respect Memphis. Ohio State has its one easy game.

Yesterday I was 4 3 for 4 in my picks, and what a breeze it was [I forgot I picked USC on the day after picking UNC earlier] . . . heh.

Now all we need is someone to beat CBS (5.00 / 1) (#1)

about the head and shoulders, for making us watch Georgetown-Vanderbilt through most of the second half of the Florida-Butler game, only cutting to the Butler game when it reached that cusp about 2:30 to go, when Fla. pulled away, and then jumping back to Geo-Vandy.

I realize Patrick Ewing, Jr. is a nice story and all, but, really, Butler leading and hanging with Fla. was a much better one.  Sadly, we'll never really know how much so, since the results are known and half the fun of watching any sports is not knowing the end of the story.

It was just the defending champs (none / 0) (#4)

    Vandy Robbed (5.00 / 1) (#5)

I'm not going to show as much class as our coach.

Gtwon doesn't deserve to be playing tomorrow Vandy does.

Vandy won the game until the refs swallowed their wistles and let the game winning basket be scored by a player that had to travel to get the shot off.

Sports isn't fair but it sure sucks when you are on the short end of a horrible no call.

    Go Dores great season.

USC melted down, it was to see Taj prove you have to earn "the toughest player in the nation" title every game night.

That's what you will get to see Sunday.

Not as big a deal as Oregon's 5'6" star.

The big guys don't always win.

It's possible the baddies will win instead but one can always hope justice will triumph occasionally.
