O'Reilly Cuts Lis Wiehl's Mike Over U.S. Attorney Firings

Keith Olbermann named Bill O'Reilly worst person of the day Friday for cutting his co-host Lis Wiehl's mike during his radio show. What was Lis's transgression? Pointing out there would be no public transcript of White House officials' interviews before a Congressional panel if the White House proposal was accepted.

O'Reilly screamed and yelled and got so mad he demanded Lis' mike be cut for three minutes. What a prince of free speech -- not.

Media Matters has the audio tape, go listen, it's a hoot. Probably was no fun for Lis who you can hear in the background after her mike was cut -- good for her for standing up to him.

And check out her new book.

It's not sad, it's just criminal. Orally himself deliberately perpetrates lies. If no one is under oath, how can you charge them with lying to congress or perjury? And millions of people believe him.

Wiehl deserved to have her mike cut for even walking into that studio. Why anyone believes that it is legitimate political discourse to go on programs like this, or Limbaugh, or H&c is beyond me. One big reason these propaganda outlets continue is because bobbleheads keep going on their shows. It's either ego or money.

The tremendous psychosocial damage they are inflicting, through their 24/7, multimedia saturation, on the population, is more irreversible as time goes on. If people keep following these criminals there terrible times ahead.

Success is getting what you want. Happiness is wanting what you get.

Libby's show trial and investigation has sunk in. No one is going to testify under oath for fear of not rememebring what the Demos want.

Congratulations and enjoy your (temporary) victory.

This here is the heart of the matter.  A smalkl silver lining, but at least the Nevada Dems finally treated the taint for what it is.....

One reasonable person at a time, they've got to refuse to be a Party to the propaganda machines. Until much more is accomplished in this way, it will continue to be

O'Reilly is too old for de novo insanity so I am assuming this is alcoholism.

Isn't there anyone willing to yank him off the air and force him into help?  His personality might lose its edge with sobriety, but surely he has enough money to allow time for working out a new shtick.

[Rush could join him.  He's sounding a little unwound these days himself.]

about O'Reilly.  He is shady and creepy and all about himself.  But when you think about it, isn't it shadier and creepier to have someone like Olbermann who makes his name by stalkin O'Reilly?  He doesn't have a viewership to his own show, just refugees that want to call O'Reilly out.  Kinda like the fumblin bumblin Democrats in Congress - they know how to criticize, but have no sustainable plan for any issue they have been critical about.  Failure of talk show hosts and failure of representatives.  Y'all get an 'A' in consistency.

Keith didn't need O'Reilly to make his name.  Olbermann "made his name" by being articulate and correct about stuff O'Reilly remains wrong about.

Taunting O'Reilly is a necessary act in today's society, but most of us are not in a position to do it in a forum that O'Reilly is aware of, and it has fallen to Keith, who does it masterfully.

It's a dirty job, but Keith is up to it.

Sorry to be a bit anal, but it should be mic, not mike.  "Mike" is name, while "mic" is short for microphone.

Free speech? Nope. It's commercial speech.

    Doing dumb things?

Well, there was the Demo cancellation of FNC coverage of their so-called debate...

O'Reilly has an audience. When he loses that he is gone. Until then, enjoy.

    it's the hypocrisy.

And there'll never be a lack of violent, mouthbreathing, torture loving, America hating wrongwingers to watch him.

Just look how often his lies get repeated here.

He didn't take a poll and then hide behind that, he just shut her off.

He has that right. It is his show. When the audience becomes tired of him, he'll be gone, just like what happened to some of the plethora of liberal hosts we had for a while.

I give the guy credit for having a nonsycophant as a sidekick on his show.  I assume that Al Franken had a similar independent voice kicking him in the butt on his show.
