Fat Lady Warming Up for Gonzo

From Politico:

Republican officials operating at the behest of the White House have begun seeking a possible successor to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, whose support among GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill has collapsed, according to party sources familiar with the discussions.

As Craig Crawford said on Olberman, this is akin to getting the paint out for changing the name on the parking space.

The end is nigh.

a nicer guy. When your biggest achievement in life is that you are nobody without George Bush there isn't a whole lot left to say....

    Alberto who?

    There is something here though (5.00 / 2) (#2)

Gonzo evaporated rather quickly for one reason. He made George's judgement look bad. It's George who should be gone. He's accountable for nominating Gonzo in the first place, but the rethugs have to play the blame game and will never take responsibility for themselves. They need scapegoats.

Fitz's investigation took Libby for his lies, but with Gonzo they are starting to feed on each other. What an apt nickname.

One by one. Karma is coming after George.

    This is awful! (5.00 / 2) (#3)

I really hope A.G. A.G. stays around for at least a few more weeks.  With enemies like him who needs friends?

Lots more where Gonzo came from (5.00 / 1) (#4)

I hope Bush tries to wave executive privilege in Judiciary's face.

    Leahy yesterday:
"I do not believe in this `We'll have a private briefing for you where we'll tell you everything,' and they don't," Mr. Leahy said on "This Week" on ABC, adding: "I want testimony under oath. I am sick and tired of getting half-truths on this."

I know they can't look too eager but...

I'm slow to anger too, but watch out.

I want to see Leahy pissed.

Bush is talking him into quitting, and doesn't want the responsibility of firing him.
