Lanny Davis Kisses O'Reilly's Ring

I was not of a strong opinion on the Fox Nevada debate. But I have always detested Bill O'Reilly. I also have contempt for Lanny Davis. Here he provides all the evidence you need:

O’REILLY: . . . The Soros-Lewis mob despises Fox News because we have their number and we report on them accurately. . . . These people use techniques perfected by Dr. Joseph Goebbels, the Nazi minister of information. They lie, distort, defame, all the time. . . . The Fox News Channel has been fair to the Democratic Party and will continue to be fair. . . Let’s go to another honest guy here [See O'Reilly calls him himself honest here], Lanny Davis. . . .

DAVIS: You know, I’m inclined to give everybody the benefit of the doubt here except the people that are calling for cancellation of the debate because they don’t like Fox. . . . We got to be talking to everybody, and I disagree with this pressure from Daily Kos and MoveOn.org to cancel the debate. I think anybody that took that pressure including John Edwards ought to be ashamed of themselves.

Lanny Davis sits with Bill O'Reilly, listens to him compare people to Nazis and says nothing, and Daily Kos and Move On should be ashamed of themselves? John Edwards should be ashamed of himself? Lanny Davis is not only detestable, he is insane.

I've spent the last 6 years watching many people on the left label Bush and other Republicans as Nazi's or Nazi-like.

The hyperbole on both sides has to stop since it lessens the impact of the term Nazi to the point where no one listens and/or no one will truly understand it.

BTW, I think the Dems are stupid for not going to Fox News for the debate. Why preach to the choir when you have a chance to broaden your audience?

Actually many states have open primaries in which any registered voter, irrespective of party, can vote.

...und zen you vill be found guilty and shot! Sign ze papers!

I believe even the Nazis accorded fairer treatment to prisoners of war than America now does. Says a lot about what we have become and why the world considers America to be the greatest threat to world peace.

    Nice job, mr boosh.

If we can't make comparisons to the Nazis then it means we learn less from the horror of the Holocaust.  We need to be able to make comparisons.  I think you can critique any comparison on the merits, but don't just completely disallow them.  O'Reilly is not saying these guys are as bad as Goebbels, just that he is using some of the techniques.  I happen to think that Bill is just wrong, and that he is an awful person.

there was ever a legit possibility of the FOX Hosted Democratic debate is a question that gets lost within the Right Blogosphere, and Fox's commentators, and even among some commenters on this website.

And even more bizarre was Rush Limbaugh yesterday insisting that this whole thing has been a DNC conspiracy to marginalize FOX.  Look, the DNC didn't create FOX's audience, that network developed the defining characteristics of its own audience pool, and it is certainly a large pool.  The Dems have no choice but to look at that audience and ask themselves, do we have a snowball's chance with that particular group?

It's a matter of audience, pure and simple.
What exactly is the point of dedicating limited resources to persuading an audience that is hostile to you?  If the Demo primary cycle were having tons of debates it might be reasonable to burn one on FOX, on the offchance that you might persuade a small number.  As it is, 'twould be a dumb move.

On a related and far more important note, it will be interesting when they have debates.  Maybe I'll actually watch them this time.  Because maybe then, on national television, just maybe either Hillary or Obama, our beloved frontrunners, might actually
take some freaking positions instead of trying to be all things to all people.

How sad that by comparison Edwards, that King of Sweet Talk, seems to have the Party's market cornered when it comes to clarity and integrity.
